Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Infrastructure Support Engineer to manage patching activities and technical upgrades across OS, middleware, and database environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infrastructure support, Linux administration, and basic database performance verification.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and execute patching activities and technical upgrades for Operating Systems (OS), Middleware (MW), and Databases (DB). Ensure all servers are patched/upgraded on time, coordinating with team members for assistance as required. Perform Linux administration tasks, including running commands to verify system health and patch status. Check and analyse system and application logs for errors before and after patching/upgrades. Advise Application teams on upcoming patches, potential impacts, and validation checks to be performed pre- and post-patching. Execute basic SQL queries to verify database performance and stability after patching activities. Document patching processes, upgrade steps, and validation results to ensure compliance and audit readiness. Collaborate with other infrastructure, application, and database teams for seamless change implementations.

Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum 4 years of experience in Infrastructure Support roles. Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with: Linux administration and command line operations OS, middleware, and database patching/upgrades Ability to check and interpret system/application logs for troubleshooting. Basic SQL skills to perform simple performance checks on databases post-patching. Good communication skills to coordinate with application teams and provide guidance on patch validations. Strong problem-solving mindset with ownership to drive patching tasks to completion.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with enterprise patch management tools and procedures. Exposure to ITIL practices for change management. * Knowledge of Windows server patching.
