Job Description

Hatch (thehatchx.com) is established by Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s Home Team Science and Technology (HTX) as an innovation hub for public safety and security. It was launched on 30 May 2023 by Minister K. Shanmugam, Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law, Singapore. The launch has been covered by CNA and Straits Times.

HTX is the world\xe2\x80\x99s first Science and Technology agency that integrates a diverse range of scientific and engineering capabilities to innovate and deliver transformative and operationally ready solutions for homeland security. HTX is a statutory board of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and integral to the Home Team departments such as SPF, ISD, SCDF, ICA, SPS, CNB, HTA.



Responsibilities

• Join discussions with officers across the MHA\xe2\x80\x99s Home Team, to elicit and refine problem statements, and translate them into scouting requirements for our global partners
• Conduct extensive research (including open-source research from the internet, journals, publications, etc) to identify market trends and emerging technologies aligned to the identified trend
• Identify and source cutting-edge technologies or startups on an ongoing basis as well as for open innovation challenges
• Support marketing and PR campaigns across all channels to engage internal stakeholders and key partners in the ecosystem
• Provide general support at the Centre, such as marketing efforts of programs, community and outreach events, etc.

• Students currently pursuing a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business / marketing / design / communications / public safety related disciplines
• Passionate and curious about technology, startups and innovation
• Energetic, independent and have willingness to learn
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, writing, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Team player, who is willing to go the extra mile
• Attention to detail with good organizational skills
• Bonus skills: community engagement, marketing, design

Commitment:

• Full-time (paid leave will be given for official school activities)
• Preference for long-term mandatory school internship (5-12 months)
• Office location: LaunchPad @ one-north, 79 Ayer Rajah Crescent (1 day work from home)
• Monthly allowance of S$1,500
