Job Description


ItsRainingRaincoats is a registered charity that aims to improve the welfare of migrant workers in Singapore and assimilate their integration into Singaporean society. Since our inception in 2014, we have been fully run by volunteers. This year, however, we are hiring permanent staff. If you are interested in the work we do and are looking for an exciting, always changing, and compassionate place to work.

Located at 470 Upper Paya Lebar Road (534235) inspIRRe is Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s first-of-its-kind place dedicated to migrant workers. On the first floor is a shop where workers can take items that members of the public have donated. On the second floor is a lounge and meeting area where workers, volunteers, corporates, and other stakeholders can meet and relax in. There is no entrance fee to inspIRRe and workers simply have to book a slot before they can enter. Each worker can only visit once every three months so as to ensure Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s population of one million workers can each get a chance to visit.



This internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in volunteer management, community engagement, social media creation and nonprofit operations. You will have the chance to work with a dynamic team dedicated to creating meaningful change in the community. Responsibilities:

1. Volunteer Management:

- Manage volunteers at inspIRRe, ensuring that they are aware of the duties to be completed during their shift.

2. Liaison with Donors, Government Agencies, and Companies:

- Collaborate with donors, government agencies, and corporate partners to secure support, resources, and partnerships for ItsRainingRaincoats\' initiatives - e.g Oversee Donation Drives, Fundraisers & Corporate Social Responsibility events etc.

3. Social Media Management:

- Lead ItsRainingRaincoats\' social media programme by creating engaging content on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

- Design visually appealing social media posts to promote IRR\'s mission, projects & thank sponsors / volunteers.

4. IRR NextGen Programme Coordination

- Support the IRR\'s youth wing - NextGen programme by vetting students\' proposals and interview questions for workers.

- Maintain effective communication with students, providing support as needed to plan a successful event - e.g Sports Day, Terrarium Making Workshop & Makan with Migrant Workers etc.

- Coordinate donations from schools to worksites and dormitories.

Requirements:

- Singaporean / PR

- Based at our inspIRRe store - 470 Upper Paya Lebar Rd, 534235, Monday - Friday, 10am to 6pm

- Minimum 3 months, full-time

- Open to students and non-students above 18 years old

- Proficiency in Canva, Google Docs & Excel preferred

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups of volunteers and stakeholders.

- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

- Experience in creating visually appealing social media posts is a plus.

- A passion for community engagement, social impact, and making a positive difference in people\'s lives.
