We develop and maintain services that power Viki's API and business intelligence, as well as make architecture changes to scale them. We handle everything from Viki's media API, users & communication subsystems, subscriptions, content delivery and many other backend components critical to a video streaming platform.The Multimedia Team (Backend Development) takes care of the entire media pipeline at Viki from content reception to client delivery, including video processing (encoding, multi-DRM encryption and packaging), cloud storage, multi-CDN management, playback quality control, subtitles update and end-user QoE. The team is instrumental in ensuring the delivery of all content on Vikixe2x80x99s platform and the first class watch experience for all users.The Content Platform (Full Stack Development) is responsible for building and maintaining systems that are a gateway into all business workflows at Rakuten Viki. It is crucial to a wide range of business teams, ranging from Content Operations, Marketing, Legal, Finance, Customer Experience, Product, and Engineering teams. We are scaling in terms of data we handle and adding a number of interesting workflows and features to this system.The Data Engineering Team is responsible for enabling business to gain insights and find business opportunities from all its data. We build highly reliable systems and data pipelines that daily ingest terabytes of data from disparate data sources which is then checked for quality, cleaned, standardized, enriched, transformed and modeled to measure the effectiveness and performance of our organization's business processes. We are also responsible for enabling real-time data flows for User Behavior Analytics, CRM, advanced analytics, AI and ML with high uptimes.The Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Team at Viki is responsible for building and managing the platform that powers Viki's microservices and business intelligence systems, covering areas such as performance engineering, cost optimization, security, reliability, and CI/CD. We leverage both GCP and AWS, with a tech stack that includes Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Redis, Datadog, Cloud Build, Vault, and Spinnaker. The team plays a critical role in scaling and optimizing Viki's platform to support our growth and evolving needs.The Mobile Engineering Team (Mobile Development) is responsible for a variety of systems across iOS and Android platforms. We maintain an iOS and an Apple TV app with a shared Swift codebase, in a modular approach. We focus on automating our processes including deployment to App store, tests (lint, unit tests, snapshot tests) running on every pull request. Similarly, our Android team is continuing to improve our Android app which has become a benchmark of excellence in Google Play. We are featured under Editor's Choice and Android Excellence. In addition, we are among Googlexe2x80x99s launch partners for Android instant Apps and Android Go. We are also featured in Android Developer Story, nominated for Google Play awards, Best Living Room Experience Awards and various tech blogs and news sites.The Web Team (Frontend Development) owns all our user-facing web properties such as, viki.com, contribute.viki.com, subber.viki.com, and soompi.com, at Rakuten Viki. Tens of millions of users will be impacted by what you have built.
