Deliver service and creating memorable experiences for guests during banquets, events, and special occasions. Assist in setting up banquet rooms, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the event. Intern, Food & Beverage works closely with the banquet manager and supervisor, to deliver seamless service and exceed guest expectations.

The job responsibilities include the following:

  • Assist in the setup and arrangement of banquet rooms, including tables, chairs, linens, decorations, and audiovisual equipment, according to the event requirements and floor plans.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the banquet area before, during, and after events.
  • Familiarize oneself with the event details, such as menu offerings, dietary restrictions, and special requests, to provide accurate information to guests.
  • Greet and welcome guests in a professional and friendly manner, escorting them to their assigned tables.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently, adhering to proper serving techniques and presentation standards.
  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries and requests, providing assistance and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the event.
  • Monitor and refill water glasses, remove empty dishes and glassware, and maintain a clean and tidy banquet area.
  • Collaborate with the event coordinator and other service staff to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate service timing and any last-minute changes or requests.
  • Work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and proper temperature maintenance.
  • Assist in the post-event clean-up and breakdown, including clearing tables, removing linens, and cleaning banquet areas.
  • Return all banquet equipment, utensils, and supplies to their designated storage areas.
  • Ensure proper disposal of waste and recycling, following established procedures.
Requirements

The candidate should possess the following:
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with guests.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and guests during events.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and event requirements.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask efficiently.
