Launched in November 2007, Business China\'s mission is to nurture an inclusive bilingual and bicultural group of Singaporeans through extensive use of the Chinese language as the medium of communication, so as to sustain our multi-cultural heritage, and to develop a cultural and economic bridge linking the world and China.

Harnessing the support of the public sector and private enterprises, Business China, as a non-profit organisation, aims to strengthen the ties between Singapore and China, so as to sustain and grow the global connectivity of Singapore through:

  • Becoming the leading bilingual and bicultural channel for closer collaboration with China.
  • Establishing a widespread appreciation and acceptance of Chinese language and culture, within the multi-ethnic, multi-cultural mosaic that is fundamental to the Singapore identity.
  • Nurturing young Singaporeans to develop deeper links with China, engaging it in all facets including economic, business, social, cultural and educational.


About Go East

With the rapid changes in China and the world, it is essential for the younger generation to have a global perspective. While we look at the West, we should also have a balanced view by looking to the East, to find the bridge between the two worlds.

The Go East division (\xe4\xb8\x9c\xe6\xb8\xb8\xe8\xae\xb0, which literally means a Journey to the East in Chinese) is established under Business China to drive this purpose. We develop and execute programmes to nurture a group of Singapore-China Savvy talents, by building a UNIQUE platform for our youths to enhance their bilingual skills, understand the latest development and trends in China, and develop deeper links between Singapore and China, and beyond. This role will allow you to directly participate in fostering stronger bilingual, bicultural and international mindset and skills amongst our youth.

We work closely with partners including Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), organisations and passionate individuals who share the same objectives of creating opportunities for our youth.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support and assist the team in developing and implementing programs and activities for youths.
  • Coordinate, prepare, organize, execute programs for China and Singapore such as immersion trips, internship, exchange programs and local learning journey for youth.
  • Provide support and guidance to youth members.
  • Ensure all operations adhere to organizational & functional policy & SOPs and records & reports are up-to-date, accurate and properly maintained.
Requirements:
  • Effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin \xe2\x80\x93 written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge and interest in Singapore \xe2\x80\x93 China developments and passionate about youth development programs and activities.
  • Comfortable with software applications/online applications - MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint), Photoshop, Canva, other EDM software/app will be an advantage.
  • Being a self-starter with a positive attitude is essential.
  • Singapore Citizens/PRs may apply.
