We are looking for 2 dedicated self-starters who share our passion for investing and want to learn how we execute on investment opportunities and manage our existing investments.

Who you\xe2\x80\x99ll work with

The investment intern will work closely with our highly specialized private equity team that invests in global infrastructure and natural resources companies to deliver growing, inflation-linked cash flows over a long-term investment horizon. Our global team consists of over 70 investment professionals with strong academic backgrounds (CA, CFA, MBA, CBV, PEng) and solid practical experience.

We handle a geographically diverse CAD 40 billion global investment portfolio and we have offices in Toronto, London, Singapore, and Mumbai with additional presences in Santiago, Chile and Melbourne, Australia! Our investments are primarily through direct, privately held, controlling or co-controlling stakes, rather than through funds or passive holdings.

You will be working directly with our INR Asia Pacific team based in Singapore, which consists of 12 investment professionals who manage a portfolio of CAD 4 billion. Our recent investments include the acquisition of Connexa in New Zealand, the formation of Mahindra Susten in India, the take-private of Spark Infrastructure in Australia, and our acquisition of Equis Developments which operates across Australia, Japan, and South Korea!

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do

You will be involved in assisting the team in analysing potential new investment opportunities, managing our existing investments and will gain the following hands-on experience and training:

  • Hone your financial modelling abilities by analysing investment opportunities
  • Learn to identify key value drivers and risks for investments and perform related sensitivity and scenario analyses
  • Support due diligence exercises
  • Prepare valuations, presentations, and reports to senior investment professionals
  • Develop and analyse business cases for portfolio company value creation initiatives (debt refinancings, expansion projects, management compensation, on-going budgeting, etc.)
What you\xe2\x80\x99ll need
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate with a concentration in investments, finance, or accounting
  • Previous intern experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, or equity research. Some infrastructure or natural resources experience would be a plus!
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) required
  • Familiarity with financial modelling \xe2\x80\x93 you are a number whiz!
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills and ability to perform in-depth analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills \xe2\x80\x93 you are a people person and love working in a dynamic team!
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and initiatives while remaining detail-oriented
  • Currently enrolled in your 3rd / 4th year
  • You will be returning to your studies after the work term is completed
