Key Roles and Responsibilities

The internship candidate will benefit from opportunities to work alongside Sembcorp's Energy & Utilities and Reliability experts / professionals on challenging engineering projects.
Key responsibilities will include but is not limited to:Performing mass and energy balance calculations across boundaries such as entire plant, individual systems or sub-systems Monitoring and troubleshooting mass balance discrepancies to minimize material loss Evaluating plant efficiencies for Cogeneration Power Plant and Battery Energy Storage Systems to identify avenues for improvement Monitoring the carbon emissions from fuel combustion in thermal energy assets and evaluating impact to environment Applying theoretical knowledge from areas such as thermodynamics and fluid mechanics to support optimization projects for systems/equipment such as gas turbines, heat exchangers & pumps Review equipment failure data to identify root causes and eliminate repeated failures Conduct reliability data analysis for tracking asset's key performance indicators (e.g. MTBF, MTBR etc.) and support reliability data management and reporting.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Background in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Strong drive and enthusiasm to actively contribute to day-to-day monitoring tasks. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, present technical information clearly, and engage with stakeholders at all levels. Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, adaptability to new challenges and proactive in taking initiative. Comfortable working in a power/utilities plant environment. Proficient in common computer applications (e.g MS Word, MS Excel). Ability to programme (VBA/MATLAB/Python) or perform data analysis would be beneficial.
