Job Description
What the role is:
The intern will assist the Policy & Markets Division in projects requiring research and quantitative analysis. Alongside these, the intern may have the opportunity to assist in cases or market studies which CCCS is conducting. Through such projects and cases, the intern will also have the opportunity to meet industry and government stakeholders together with CCCS officers.
What you will be working on:
- Compilation and cleaning of data \xe2\x80\xa2 Assist supervisor and team in performing an analysis of competition and consumer issues in an industry \xe2\x80\xa2 Where necessary, econometric regression techniques might be needed \xe2\x80\xa2 Where necessary and appropriate, the intern might assist in cases that CCCS is assessing or market studies that CCCS is conducting \xe2\x80\xa2 Intern will also be asked to help with the administering and managing of CCCS\'s internal database of industry reports and data \xe2\x80\xa2 The intern may also be involved in other quantitative projects which CCCS is conducting
- Understanding and applying econometric analysis techniques \xe2\x80\xa2 Usage of STATA and/or Excel for quantitative analysis Interested applicants, please upload your CV, University unofficial transcripts and A level results.
The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (\xe2\x80\x9cCCCS\xe2\x80\x9d) administers and enforces the Competition Act (Cap. 50B) which empowers CCCS to investigate and adjudicate anti-competitive activities, issue directions to stop and/or prevent anti-competitive activities and impose financial penalties. CCCS is also the administering agency of the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act (Cap. 52A) or CPFTA which protects consumers against unfair trade practices in Singapore.
