What the role is:The Community Relations and Engagement Division (CRED) fosters a cohesive, caring and active community. We formulate and review policies to nurture harmonious relations among racial and religious communities, and to create a vibrant voluntary and philanthropic sector. We provide secretariat support to the National Steering Committee (NSC) on Racial and Religious Harmony and the Inter-Racial and Religious Confidence Circles (IRCCs). We work closely with the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre to promote volunteerism and charitable giving as a way of life. Singapore will be submitting our second report on the ICERD, to the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) in 2025, with a presentation to the CERD likely in 2026-2027. This project will provide analysis and recommendations to inform the drafting and presentation of Singapore's report.What you will be working on:The intern will: - Perform analysis, through desktop research, of periodic reports on ICERD submitted by States Parties to identify learning points and best practices for Singapore's report submission and subsequent presentation to the CERD. - Identify key local and international stakeholders (including CERD members) for ICERD, through desktop research and map key areas of interests related to ICERD. - Identify and propose modes of community / citizen engagement to review and respond to Singapore's (2nd) ICRED report.What we are looking for:
