INTERPOL's Internship Programme welcomes candidates from any of our 196 member countries.
The Programme attracts talented students or recent graduates to the Organization and provides them with: A better understanding of the Organization's goals and objectives and how international police cooperation is organized
An insight into how an international organization operates
A framework to enhance their educational experience through practical work assignments, thereby developing skills which are useful for their career and future employment
Experience of working in a multicultural, multidisciplinary and multi-ethnic environment, contributing to the development of mutual understanding, trust and tolerance

As of 1 January 2025, the internship allowance is EUR 700 and a transport subsidy of EUR 30 per month. An additional housing subsidy of EUR 170 per month will be provided to eligible interns.
Interns are required to be subscribed to a health insurance coverage for the entire duration of the internship. However, they are eligible to request enrolment in the Organization's health insurance coverage at no additional cost.

PRIMARY DUTIES
========================
Throughout this internship the selected applicant will provide support to the INTERPOL Press Office and its activities by:
Monitoring regional and global news sources for articles and stories relevant to INTERPOL
Preparing news digests
Assisting with data collection and maintenance of databases
Undertaking desk research and liaising with internal units to source information for journalists
Helping to develop media outreach strategies
Draft, review and edit articles and other written material
Participating in brainstorming sessions
By carrying out the internship duties, the selected candidate will be able to: Monitor media through real-time media intelligence platforms
Support media and external communications in an international and multilingual organization
Develop media outreach strategies
Support external communications in a fast-moving, international organization
Carry out any other duty assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

Be a national of one of INTERPOL's 196 member states
Have attained the legal age of majority in their country of nationality

Training/Education

Be enrolled in a, or have graduated from, an accredited academic institution (general first degree in journalism, media studies, communications, international affairs or related studies) within the past one year on the date of submission of their application

Professional fluency in English is required

Specific skills/abilities required

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
Understanding of the media and global media landscape
Ability to edit and write clear, engaging editorial content
Interest in the media and international security
Show initiative, resilience and a flexible approach
A good command of any other INTERPOL official working language (Arabic, French or Spanish)
Knowledge of any other language
Experience in drafting articles and social media posts
Experience with Canva, InDesign, Photoshop or Premiere Pro would be considered an asset
