Overview of Role:
As part of the Asian Equity team, t he Investment Product Analyst role is based in Singapore. The role will be a bridge between our Asian Equities Investment and Client Group - proactively engaging with client teams and other internal and external stakeholders to provide product expertise across the range of Asian Equity strategies managed by the desk. Job responsibilities also include preparing product materials and investment commentaries for client engagement, tracking market trends and peer performance comparison. This role will also partner with Client Group on business development opportunities and will entail client facing activities and presentations. Additionally, you will assist with account management of clients, both local as well as international, whose equity accounts are managed by our investors in Hong Kong and Singapore, with the goal of delivering a positive client experience and ensuring the longevity and profitability of client accounts and mandates.
The successful candidate will be someone willing to seize opportunities to help grow the Schroders Asian Equities business in an evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Product & Client Support
Development and maintenance of client reporting material, new business materials, databases and general information on the Asian Equities product suite.
Ensure all Asian Equities product presentations and fund updates are produced with high quality for distribution to sales channels.
Prepare investment reports and host discussions covering investment strategy, performance and market developments, and act as a conduit for other internal subject matter experts where relevant.
Collect and analyse comparative advantages among major peers and determine product niche as part of competitor analysis.
Work closely with internal stakeholders on legal, compliance and operational aspects of funds and client portfolios - this includes coordination on matters pertaining to investment management agreements, investigation and follow-up on trade compliance matters, client instructions on funding and withdrawals.
Ensure RFPs are completed with the highest standards possible and tailored to clients' needs
Embrace a technical approach to client service and reporting, with a focus on providing of high quality, thoughtful advice and service.
Business Management and Development
Participate in formulating overall business strategy including market landscape, competitor analysis, potential growth opportunities and developing actionable plans for the Asian Equities product suite.
Streamline existing work processes and establish best practices for the Asian Equities platform in Asia.
Work closely with the entire Public Equities platform to contribute to the business growth of the business within Asia.
Assist with Schroders client events and new business pitches with Investment Directors, portfolio managers, client group representatives and stakeholders, and where required, in client reviews and conference calls with clients and prospects.
Fronting and presenting to select client audiences directly to deliver investment narratives and messages for Asian equity strategies.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g. CFA or equivalent) are advantageous
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience within the asset management industry, preferably with a focus on Asian equities
Strong understanding of public equities investment strategies, products, and the broader Asian (ex Japan) markets
Demonstrable experience in product management, product development, investment analysis, or similar roles within asset management
Proven ability to clearly articulate investment strategies, processes, and performance to a variety of internal and external stakeholders
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare compelling client materials and reports
Effective project management and organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Collaborative and proactive team player, comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Fluency in English; additional Asian languages are advantageous
