Job Description


The IT Analyst (Site Systems Administrator) is responsible for IT systems administration, communications and network control in Singapore and Malaysia

Key
Responsibilities:

  • Provides level-2 support for resolving client issues in the desktop environment in Singapore and provide guidance to outsourced engineer in Malaysia, Australia and Indonesia.
  • Clients may be within a local facility, at another location, or travelling.
  • Level-2 support includes resolving issues related to configuration, network connectivity, remote access connectivity, hardware failure, and system tuning & performance. The desktop environment includes a standard suite of office applications (word processing, spreadsheet development, presentation develop) e-mail, anti-virus software, Internet browser, and may include department or area-specific applications such as SAP, payroll, Readsoft, and others.
  • Ensure daily and weekly backups of servers under the responsibility of the role.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of this support by documenting new processes and providing feedback on existing processes. Respond to and/or be available to receive requests from the user community pertaining to questions or problems relating to computer and other IT hardware or software applications. Attempt to resolve the problem or answer the question at first contact.
  • Logs requests problems as outlined in HelpDesk documentation. If unable to solve issue immediately, escalate to the second level of support. Track and follow through on all requests to completion.

Qualifications/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering/ or Information Technology
  • At least 3 years’ experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Intel based PC's in a networked environment. Experience must include Windows (Windows XP and 7), remote access software/systems, configuring clients for Microsoft Active Directory networks, and TCP/IP.
  • Must have experience with PC-based e-mail systems, (Outlook client experience preferred); office application suites, (MS Office preferred); WWW browsers, (Internet Explorer preferred); and desktop anti-virus software, (Symantec preferred). Technical certifications in area expertise.
  • Should possess excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work as part of a regional/global "virtual" team and to work independently and remotely.
  • Ability to solve problems in a quick manner that supports global IT strategies.
