Job Description




The IT Business Unit Sr Manager is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Leads and directs a team of professionals. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects a sub-function. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.

Responsibilities:

  • Functions in a Chief Of Staff capacity to ensure strategy is implemented appropriately.
  • Collaborates with IT functional/departmental executives and business leaders to create the business plan for IT.
  • Scans the external IT environment to provide a common set of planning assumptions.
  • Works on internal communications. Manages mergers & acquisitions and outsourcing activities.
  • Ensures business unit is meeting or exceeding components of service level agreements. Resolves complex and varied issues with substantial potential impact.
  • Uses in depth understanding of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues that have impact beyond own area.
  • Applies in depth understanding of how own sub function integrates within technology and has commercial awareness.
  • Has full management responsibilities for team (includes people, budget and planning).
  • Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated and unique situations; uses multiple sources of information.
  • Impacts the area through responsibility for planning, finances/budget, end results, setting policies and contribution to strategic decisions.
  • Persuades and influences others through communication and diplomacy skills; may negotiate with external parties.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm\'s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
  • Responsible for consistent supplier management and governance
  • Supplier risk management including initial risk assessments and ongoing monitoring as a Business Activity Owner (BAO)
  • Responsible for consistent execution of contracts in accordance with Citi Expense Management Policy (CEMP) and Citi\'s Third-Party Management (TPM)
  • Statement of Work (SOW) management including requests, approvals, resource onboarding and off-boarding
  • Workforce Tracking: Rate analysis, location and contractor attrition reporting
  • Work across Digital Organization, Citi Staffing Office, Citi Enterprise Supply Chain (ESC), and Finance
  • Independent projects and assignments as needed in the broader Business Management team
  • Establish strong relationships with internal business stakeholders; build a strong understanding of strategic business direction, requirements and priorities across assigned suppliers and/or spend categories.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Citi\'s policies and procedures related to supplier selection, contracting and ongoing management, ensuring all requirements are met and documented throughout the end-to-end process.
  • Lead global category and supplier management forums, building and fostering the development of a cohesive, high-performing global sourcing team.
  • Lead, manage and mentor a sourcing team to excellence and superior sourcing results.
  • Develop, implement and manage robust market analyses / benchmarking processes; leverage key insights to inform and support the category strategy process.
  • Develop, lead and/or manage a robust portfolio of initiatives for assigned categories across the end-to-end sourcing and contracting process, including:
  • establishment of the cross-functional project team,
  • development of the requirements and spend baseline,
  • performance or market research / analysis,
  • formulation of the sourcing strategy,
  • development of the RFx materials,
  • facilitation of the evaluation & scoring of supplier proposals,
  • confirmation of completion of required due diligence,
  • negotiation of contract terms and conditions,
  • packaging and routing of the contract for execution, and
  • administration of contract records.
  • Perform financial modeling and lead the development and execution of negotiation strategies for high-value and complex multi-year deals.
  • Manage key supplier relationships with a focus on quality, service, delivery, risk and cost.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in technology planning with commensurate experience in people management.
  • Budget management, Risk & Control management, influencing skills
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Strong knowledge of operations and technology (At least 5 years of experience in Technology functions)
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, influence, organization, and communication skills required
  • Knowledge of resource and supplier controls, and understanding of business drivers & strategies
  • Advanced MS Office, particularly Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint skills.
  • Capacity to balance both short and long-term issues effectively and handle many simultaneous and often conflicting priorities
  • Ability to relate effectively up, down, and across the organization
  • Ability to simplify complex IT information and design clear, value focused messages to a variety of audiences under tight timeframes
  • Applies comprehensive understanding of how multiple areas collectively integrate to contribute towards achieving business objectives.
  • Exhibits sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills
  • Ability to self-manage tasks and associated deadlines
  • Knowledge of Citi Third Party Management (TPM) policies and procedures helpful
