This position is for Centre for Research on Successful Ageing (ROSA).
Oversee the implementation, deployment and operation of servers (Windows and Linux), databases, systems and technology solutions for Centre\xe2\x80\x99s / ROSA\xe2\x80\x99s needs.
Ensure that ROSA\xe2\x80\x99s servers, databases and systems are secured, backed up, recoverable, highly available, serviceable and maintained.
Liaise with University\xe2\x80\x99s IT department to ensure compliance and make relevant changes to Centre\xe2\x80\x99s IT systems as required.
Monitor new technologies / releases / patches and make recommendations to continuously improve ROSA\xe2\x80\x99s work processes and services.
Ensure that timelines and milestones of IT-related projects are well planned, met and adhered to, providing timely updates on the progress of the projects.
Server management
Ensure that servers are hardened according to the university\'s policies.
Ensure that servers and applications are patched according to the university\'s policies.
Ensure that servers are operating in a healthy state.
Monitor the availability of servers and services.
Perform server administration tasks, such as file housekeeping and creating and deleting user IDs.
Manage tech refresh and server maintenance.
Database management
Perform regular checks, audits and maintenance of the Centre\xe2\x80\x99s data security measures according to University\xe2\x80\x99s policies and guidelines as well as requirements by MOE & CSA (e.g. Data Protection Officer, PDPA, etc).
Applications
Design and implement the monthly SLP survey (programming, testing, coding and deploying) and monitor the daily survey responses for any anomalies.
Keep survey web applications up to date by deploying application enhancements and patches and ensuring data confidentiality, integrity and availability.
Qualifications:
Degree / Diploma in IT / relevant field from a university / institution.
Proven relevant and recent (within 3 years) hands-on experience working specifically within the following environments and programme languages:
Management of Windows RDP (Remote Desktop Server)
To perform software installation and upgrades/ 2FA user management, technical support for researchers.
Server management, including NAS management
To perform system and application administration, user identity & password management, access control management, backup/restore and disaster recovery, patch management, vulnerability assessment, technical and business evaluation, technical documentation, and procurement of hardware (if require) and maintenance.
Database management (MSSQL, MySQL)
To perform DB installation, configuration, upgrade, migration and patching.
DB & SQL design and development, job scheduling and monitoring, performance monitoring, security management, space management, troubleshoot, backup and disaster recovery, maintain DB related documentation.
Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, conflict management, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proactive self-starter who is quality conscious, attentive to details, result-driven and a team player.
