Business DivisionsGroup FunctionsYour roleWe\'re looking for a Systems Engineer to:

• develop and improve our Ansible configuration management platform for the low latency trading infrastructure
• collaborate with application developers and provide white glove service to tune each platform based on the application requirements to achieve the highest performance and lowest latency
• work directly on kernel optimization, hardware configuration (BIOS), and OS tuning
• develop performance testing and benchmarking framework to improve our time to release
• develop automated tools to simplify daily tasks and improve the observability of our platform health
• engage in escalations with our system admins to troubleshoot critical outages
• ensure the quality, security, and reliability of our platform by applying best practices in systems design and implementing both functional and non functional requirements
• share knowledge and expertise with colleagues, help with hiring, and contribute regularly to our engineering culture and internal communities

UBS RecruitingYour teamYou\'ll be working in the High Performance Electronic Trading - Systems Engineering team in Singapore focusing on Linux configuration management, systems tuning and next generation hardware deployments. We provide white glove service to all high performance low latency trading applications including our dark pool, direct market access engines, smart order routing applications and market data feeds. This benefits our clients within Agency and Principal trading as we can provide a reliable, high performance and low latency infrastructure. As a Systems Engineer, you\'ll play an important role in defining best practices and designing low latency solutions for the business.Your expertise

• minimally 7+ years experience in Linux configuration management (Ansible/Chef/Puppet)
• minimally 7+ years experience with Linux engineering and a deep understanding of Linux OS fundamentals including sysctl, cgroup, systemd, grub
• experience in hardware and bios tuning including HPE, Intel, AMD, Solarflare
• experience in system build automation and knowledge of redfish api, kickstart, satellite
• strong troubleshooting skills and hands on experience with debugging and benchmarking tools such as gdb, perf, ebpf, sysjitter, kernel trace
• expertise in python3 and shell scripting used for automation
• proficient in writing engineering documentation including design docs and how-to guides
• fluent in TCP/IP and basic concepts of networking including layer1, vlans and multicast routing
