JOB TITLE Senior Engineer/ Engineer (Systems)DEPARTMENT / UNIT Information Technology (IT)REPORTING TO Manager (Systems)Role This position exists to support daily operation for Windows servers, Open Systems, and Storage, where the daily tasks include OS installation, configuration, performance fine tuning, troubleshoot, security vulnerabilities patching and testing.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education / Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or its equivalent

• 5/ 3 years of experience in system administration
• Valid MCSE/MCSA/OCA/OCP certification or its equivalent preferred

Specific Skills Strong experience in Windows, Unix/ Linux and Solaris environment(Knowledge, skills and Some knowledge and experience in the installation, reformatting and recovery of OSabilities) Technical background and skills in Storage System, Virtualisation (VCP), backup and recovery

• Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, NTP configuration, TCP/IP networking
• Working knowledge of middleware application services (OFM/Weblogic) will be an added advantage
• Knowledge and experience in patching and vulnerability identification/ remediation
• Ability to interact and work with vendors on hardware and software support

RESPONSIBILITY MEASUREMENT CRITERIA

• Provides technical installation of systems during project implementation Timely resolution of problems stage, configuring and administering OS, storage, back up of server end Timely generation of service report systems to restore the systems Downtime minimisation
• Performs application software setup, configuration, hardening and Stakeholders feedback on the service delivery in documentation for middleware and ensures the uptime, performance and meeting users and standards requirements security of the servers Number and Delivery of System Enhancements Responsible for routine health check on servers, equipments and applications, performing OS/systems patching update and backup of systems, as scheduled

• Provides problem management support, analysing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems and coordinates with external parties for problem resolutions, when required
• Performs incident logging/ update incident to report the chronology of the incident and implement corrective action based on the incident management procedure
• Generates and maintains relevant administrative records and reports, including those from vendors/ subcontractors, analysing the information before presenting to senior team members
• Works closely with applications, operations and network team, develops, reviews and updates system recovery plans to underpin IT Service

Continuity Management Plan and ensures the alignment to BusinessContinuity Plan to minimise risk and disruption in business operations due to systems failure

• Builds good knowledge on server, agent software trends and technology, proactively introduces and integrates new technologies to improve server efficiency in the existing environment
• Maintains and monitors current server for data recoverability to identify areas of improvement, analysing and isolating issues to make recommendations for future upgrade
• Liaises and works with vendors and subcontractors, monitoring project progress, verifying deliverables, follows up with issues and evaluates system performance
• Supports periodic audit exercises for systems and software in the improvement initiative, performs routine audits and follows up with the remediation actions to close all audit findings
• Monitors and analyses servers problems through service requests, developing trends to identify critical and common problems, and justifies areas for further improvements
