Job Description

Job Summary:

As a Junior Design Engineer in the marine and shipbuilding industry, you will assist in the development of technical drawings, 3D models, and engineering documentation for ships, boats, and marine structures. Working under the guidance of senior engineers , you will contribute to the design and construction process from concept through production, ensuring compliance with classification societies and marine industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for hull structures, outfitting, piping, and systems using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Rhino,SolidWorks, or similar). Support the creation of technical documentation and construction drawings. Collaborate with naval architects and production teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability. Modify and update designs based on feedback from design reviews and site/fabrication observations. Assist in the coordination between design, engineering, and production departments. Participate in the preparation of installation manuals and as-built documentation. Conduct basic calculations (e.g., structural,stability) under supervision. Ensure all design work adheres to safety, quality, and marine regulatory standards. Maintain version control and proper documentation of drawing revisions.

Requirements:

Diploma or Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. 2 years of relevant experience Familiarity with ship design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Rhino, SolidWorks,) Understanding of marine structures, outfitting, and system layouts. Basic knowledge of marine classification society rules (e.g., ABS, BV,). Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documents. * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
