Description
This is an International Multi Commodity Trading company with a significant presence in the Energy space. The Trading Analyst will provide primary support to the Senior Oil Trader.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Oil Trader, the Trading Analyst will be responsible in effectively execute and oversee trading strategies for Middle Distillate Products. This entails conducting thorough market research and analysis to pinpoint potential trading opportunities, while also staying attuned to market trends and industry developments. The Trading Analyst will be tasked with real-time monitoring and interpretation of market data, news, and geopolitical events to make well-informed trading choices. The Trading Analyst is required to maintain accurate balance tracking and demonstrate a deep understanding of forward curve dynamics. The Trading Analyst will actively participate in trade execution, precisely leveraging a comprehensive grasp of execution strategies.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field is essential, with added value provided by advanced degrees or relevant certifications. At least one to three years of background in commodities trading firms, leading oil companies, or commodities banking is particularly advantageous. The candidate should possess strong quantitative and analytical skills, underpinned by meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency in utilizing trading platforms and market data systems is a must. Additionally, capabilities in advanced Excel modeling, conducting statistical analysis through tools like R or Python, coding for automation, experience with SQL databases, and visualization using tools such as Tableau will be highly valued. Familiarity with middle distillate products and energy markets. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, given the collaborative nature of the role within a team setting. The ability to perform effectively under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced trading environment is paramount. Demonstrated skill in maintaining accurate balance tracking and a comprehensive understanding of forward curve dynamics is expected. Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools would also be advantageous. A solid grasp of risk management principles and trading strategies is fundamental. Demonstrated ability to execute trades with precision and efficiency, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of execution strategies, will be a notable asset. Lastly, the capacity to adapt to shifting market conditions and implement effective trading strategies will contribute significantly to the success in this role.
