Imperium Commodity Search is retained by a new and growing, US based energy futures brokerage seeking to expand their operations in Singapore through the addition of a junior LPG broker. This opportunity suits a candidate with some experience in the LPG/Energy markets with a desire to learn futures brokerage from the ground up and move towards building a personal book in the future. The role will primarily entail shadowing the director of the business to learn the markets in more detail, assist with trade inputs and execution tasks whilst studying and completing Series 3/relevant futures licencing to broke independently in the Singapore/APAC markets across LPG.
Our client has a strong existing client base in the LPG space across the US, Europe and Singapore with aggressive growth plans to expand this globally over the coming year. Due to the nature of LPG trading in Singapore, the key working hours will be mid afternoon through 1am local time with the core trading window being 4-5pm local time.

Responsibilities:

• Shadow and learn from Managing Director in a 'live' environment, following processes and observing phone calls, business development and LPG futures trade execution
• Study for Series 3/relevant futures qualifications 'on the job'
• Maintain pricing structures for LPG in excel/relevant database in real time, observing price movements in a live market; keeping the curve updated
• Enter LPG block futures trades with exchanges in a timely and accurate manner whilst ensuring full compliance with relevant futures regulatory boards
• Learn product codes, exchange lingo, markets and participants in greater detail
• Monitor and analyse market movements, fundamentals and news; distribute relevant market data on physical business to clients
• Learn to use and proactively send out bids via IM chat - bid/ask markets etc.
• After introductory training, deal with clients over the phone and via live chat to assist Director in his business
• Meet and converse with existing clients of the business
• Check trade blotter for accuracy and mistakes, ensuring full compliance
• Send relevant PDF confirmations to clients at close of play on a daily basis

After training period (circa 6 months): * Business development, pitching and sales to clients, building relationships and establishing personal book of LPG futures brokerage business

• Travel to meet with clients for business development purposes as well as relationship maintenance of existing client base
• Actively increase brokerage revenues with LPG futures clients in Singapore

Experience:

• 1-3 years experience working in the energy (ideally LPG) trading, brokerage or operations markets
• True desire to enter the brokerage markets and learn LPG futures brokerage from an experienced director
• Excellent sales acumen with the tenacity required to both learn and build out an LPG book
• Excellent listening skills and the ability to learn quickly, ask questions and adapt
• Fluent in English language (written and verbal)
• Good understanding of computer systems, databases and data interpretation
