Job Description


:

a) Maintenance of NFS rooms;

  • Able to maintain orderliness of the NFS food lab (kitchen) and preparation room to ensure a safe environment for lessons to be conducted. Such as ;
o washing and drying of cleaning cloth, aprons, equipments/ utensils

o organizing & tidying of student work unit such as table tops, drawers & sinks after each lesson and any other duties related to the maintenance of the NFS room.
  • Manage the equipment and appliances in the NFS food lab(kitchen)
  • Assist in checking that the main gas tap, electrical switches (oven) and knives are kept under lock & key.
  • Ensure proper storage of food items (inclusive of left overs) and sorting of ingredients based on expiry date
b) Food Preparation & Hygiene
  • Able to carry food ingredients/material from the 1 st Level to be brought up to 3 rd floor.
  • Able to manage the preparation of ingredients for lessons such as the cutting, weighing and packing of ingredients prior to lesson.
  • Organise ingredients and equipment in the kitchen which includes the repacking of ingredients into proper storage areas (refrigerator, cupboards).
  • Able to operate some of the kitchen and food science equipment such as hand held blender, electric streamer, rice cooker, stop watch, weighing scale etc.
  • Prepare food and ingredients for lesson \xe2\x80\x93 common ingredients to be placed on the centre table any other duties related to food preparation and hygiene
c) Administrative duties
  • Able to manage the process of accepting and verifying food orders.
  • Able to handle the updating of the available food supplies to NFS teachers.
  • Able to support all NFS teachers in the food lab(kitchen) at all times (excluding lunch time & scheduled breaks)
  • Managing documents such as checking food orders and filing/labelling of receipt.
Working Arrangement:
  • Mondays to Fridays: 7.30am to 3.45pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
during school term and 8.00am to 12.00pm or 12.00pm to 4.00pm during the school holidays, inclusive of 1hr lunch break.
  • Personnel may be deployed from 7.00am to 5.00pm on an
ad-hoc basis only at times, usually during the practical exam period during both school term and during the school holidays.
  • Personnel may be allowed to leave no earlier than 1pm on days where students are released earlier during the school term.
  • Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays, gazette and public holidays
Salary: $1300-$1400/Month

Location: Serangoon

Contract Duration: 1 Jan 2024 to 31 Dec 2024 (1 Year)

Job Requirements:

1. Should be able to work efficiently and independently.

4. Experienced with work in food preparation and hygiene in the food industry/ kitchen and food lab with school.

5. Experienced in food preparation for lesson and examination in a school environment.

6. Experienced in maintenance of kitchen and inventory management in a school environment.

7. Familiarity or have some experience with kitchen equipments like oven, microwave, steamer, hand blender and blender.

8. Have good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with different levels of staff (NFS teachers, OM, AM, other teachers) and external vendors(food & equipment suppliers).

9. Experienced in carrying out administrative duties in a school kitchen environment [accepting/verifying food orders, updating food supplies, managing invoices,etc].
