The Kitchen Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Chef with food preparation, cooking, and overall kitchen operations. This position ensures consistency in food quality, presentation, and hygiene, contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the bistro's kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes according to the Chef's standards.
Maintain food quality, taste, and presentation consistency.
Support daily kitchen setup, mise en place, and ingredient preparation.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in all kitchen areas.
Adhere to proper food handling, storage, and safety procedures.
Assist in receiving, inspecting, and organizing food deliveries.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.
Take charge of kitchen duties in the absence of the Chef.
Requirements
Certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent relevant experience.
1-3 years of kitchen experience preferred.
Strong passion for cooking and continuous learning.
Team-oriented with good communication and time-management skills.
Willing to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
