Kitchen Assistant
Contract Period:1 January 2026 - 31 December 2026
Work Location:Upper Bukit Timah Road, Singapore
Working Hours

• Mondays to Fridays:7:00am - 2:30pm(inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
• During Exam Periods: May be required to stay till6:00pm(inclusive of 1-hour lunch break).

Tentative Exam Schedule (subject to changes, upon school's request):

• June Holidays (Week 1-2)
• Term 2 (Week 3-6)
• Term 3 (Week 6-9)

No service required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays.
Scope of Services
Food Laboratory Duties

• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and orderliness of food laboratories, preparation rooms, utensils, and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients for students' practical lessons.
• Assist teachers in conducting hands-on demonstrations for students when necessary.
• Support teachers in maintaining classroom discipline during practical lessons.
• Manage food ingredient stock and ensure the budget is adequately utilized.
• Compile and place food orders based on lesson recipes, ensuring timely restocking through school-approved suppliers.
• Perform periodicinventory checksfor food laboratories.
• Arrange and supervise servicing/repair of cooker hobs and ovens.
• Assist teachers in filing, maintaining a repository of worksheets/test papers, and ensuring clear labelling of equipment and tools storage.
• Support school activities outside curriculum hours as assigned.
• Undertakeany ad-hoc dutiesassigned by School Leaders or teachers-in-charge.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum Qualification:PSLE Certificate or equivalent (supporting documents required).
• Ability toread, write, and understand food terms and instruction manuals in English.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Familiarity withkitchen appliancesand adherence to general kitchen safety standards.
• Good knowledge offood ingredients, preparation techniques, food safety, and handling practices.
• At least3 years of relevant experiencein a school kitchen, commercial kitchen, or training kitchen (school kitchen experience preferred).
• Proficiency inMicrosoft Office applications(Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
