We are a Japanese restaurant chain seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Food Preparation: Wash, cut, and prepare vegetables, meat, and other ingredients according to menu requirements (e.g., sashimi garnish, sushi rice preparation).
Cooking Assistance: Support chefs with cooking tasks such as grilling tempura, simmering miso soup, marinating meats, and preparing sauces.
Hygiene & Safety: Clean kitchen tools, workstations, and manage kitchen waste in compliance with hygiene standards.
Meal Preparation & Serving: Assist in plating, prepare orders based on sequence, and coordinate with chefs and service staff to ensure timely food delivery.
Requirements?
Language Skills: Basic English communication (able to understand kitchen instructions such as ingredient names and preparation methods).
Experience: At least 1 year of relevant working experience.
Work Attitude: Diligent, adaptable to fast-paced kitchen environment, and able to follow scheduling arrangements.
Teamwork & Service Mindset: Willing to support both kitchen and front-of-house needs, ensuring smooth workflow.
Skills: No prior Japanese cuisine experience required; willingness to learn knife skills and basic Japanese cooking techniques (e.g., sushi rice preparation, stock making).
