Job Description

:

• Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes, and preps foods as needed. Keeps dish area free of clutter and organized.
• Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks.
• Maintains clean / dry floors throughout the shift.
• Properly washes, stacks, and stores metal trays, silverware, cookware, and storage containers.
• Changes water of machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required by business levels, and properly uses chemical dilutions set by EcoLab.
• Assists in the storing of washed equipment.
• Maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trash cans and boxes at the end of each shift.
• Follows the posted daily dish cleaning duties.
• Assists in any other duties set forth or requested by the Dishwashing supervisor or Head Chef as needed.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of safety procedures, including safe temperatures at which dishwashing machine must be maintained.
• Ability to work as part of a team, collaborating on complex dishes
• Interpersonal skills to interact with a variety of other people, dishwashers, management and sometimes school staff.
• Calm demeanor to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
• Accountability for measuring up to the expectations of management and customers alike
• Comprehension and organization to follow direct orders and SOPs to correctly maintain the cleanliness standards of the kitchen.

• Ability to stand in one place for hours at a time, handle extreme heat
• Must have at least 1 years of relevant cooking experience, preferably in pre-school or childcare setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work well independently as well as within a team
