Job Description

We are seeking an experienced L2 Production Support Engineer to provide application support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the smooth operation of critical business systems. The role involves collaborating with development teams, performing root cause analysis, and supporting capacity and infrastructure management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide primary application support including problem tracking, diagnosis, replication, troubleshooting, and resolution of client issues. Coordinate with the Application Development team for complex issue resolution. Deliver phone support during designated hours as per the Support Plan, including after-hours support on a rotation basis from the Data Centre. Analyze and categorize issues through first and second-level support; route helpdesk tickets to appropriate teams for resolution. Monitor helpdesk tickets to ensure timely resolution and escalate as necessary according to escalation procedures. Gather and analyze data metrics to produce trend analysis reports as part of capacity management, recommending expansion plans when needed. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and contribute to defining technical requirements. Conduct weekly statistical and trend analysis, support application enhancement deployments, and assist with compliance and infrastructure upgrade tasks. Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned by team leads, such as specific monitoring for key merchant promotions.

Qualifications:

Degree in IT or related discipline. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a production support environment with hands-on technical skills.

Programming Language: Java - J2EE Platform. Java Technologies: J2EE (Servlets, JSP, JavaBeans), J2SE (JFC/Swing, SWT), JDBC, JavaMail, Jakarta Struts Framework, Spring Framework, Hibernate, Jasper Reports, JOOReports, Java Comm API, JMS, EJB. Java IDEs: Open JDK 1.8, Eclipse, Visual Age for Java, NetBeans, JBuilder. Application Servers: JBOSS EAP 7.x, Jakarta Tomcat, JBOSS 2.4.37, Blazix. Other Software: MS Office, Open Office, ELK, Zabbix, Bash scripting. Databases: Oracle 19c, MySQL 5.7x; proficient in SQL scripting for data extraction, statistics, and ad-hoc queries. Operating Systems: Linux, MS Windows.

Proactive in anticipating customer needs and partnering to achieve win-win outcomes. Hands-on experience with SQL scripting and Bash scripting is a significant advantage.
