Laboratory Technologist (lab Operations)

Job Description
The laboratory Technologist is required to provide technical, research and admin support for the laboratory activities undertaken in the existing and new geotechnical centrifuge laboratories.
He/she also needs to provide and support the laboratory sessions conducted for the undergraduate soil mechanics modules in the geotechnical soil laboratory.
- Be responsible for the general operations of the existing and new geotechnical centrifuge facilities.
- To assists and support research activities, operations and maintenance of geotechnical centrifuge laboratory facilities (both the existing and the new).
- Assist to coordinates and liaise with vendors for operation and maintenance of centrifuge machines.
- The staff assists in the development and commissioning of the new NUS geotechnical centrifuge laboratory
- The staff assists to prepare the soil/clay samples for use in the undergraduate soil laboratory sessions.
- The staff assists in maintaining the laboratory fixed assets and conducting annual auditing.
- Other ad-hoc duties assigned by the department
- At least a recognised Polytechnic Diploma in Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Preferably 2 years of relevant experience
- Possess good knowledge of laboratory safety.
- Open to fixed term contract.
- This is a non-executive position.
