Purpose:

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the localization quality of deliverables for projects which vary from software to documentation projects for our company products. This includes translation work from English / Japanese to Traditional Chinese.

The key roles and responsibilities are as follows:

• Translate, proofread, and perform linguistic validation of text for Traditional Chinese language based on project requirements
• Conduct linguistic tasks and quality assurance checks using the Localization Centre\'s standard methods
• Review of source materials to understand the product and domain knowledge to meet linguistic requirements and terminology needs for Traditional Chinese language
• Assist vendors on translation quality assurance of firmware, software, and documentation. Participate in the vendor evaluation and feedback process to maintain qualified vendors
• Participate in the development of new and improved work processes within the Language Management Group and across the Localization Centre
• Participate in the development of native language-specific translation style guidelines for Traditional Chinese

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

• Minimum 2 years\' translation experience in English/Japanese and Traditional Chinese, directly related to localization services, foreign language services, technical writing, information & documentation, language maintenance for publishing
• Bachelor\'s Degree or equivalent
• Native fluency in written and spoken Traditional Chinese required to perform translation work
• 2 years of translation experience in English / Japanese (min. JLPT Level N1) languages as the translation language medium
• Familiarity with translation tools like Trados, WorldServer, or other Computer Assisted Tools (CAT) platforms
• Attention to detail, quality and accuracy
• Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling and punctuation errors
• Strong time-management skills
• Strong inter-personal, organizational and communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals
