Mandai Wildlife Group is the steward of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a unique wildlife and nature destination in Singapore that is home to world-renown wildlife parks which connect visitors to the fascinating world of wildlife. The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore\'s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces and an eco-friendly resort.

Mandai Wildlife Group advocates for biodiversity, contributes leading wildlife research, develops innovative solutions to promote living sustainably, and collaborates with conservation partners in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

The Group provides funding and in-kind support to Mandai Nature for conservation work across Southeast Asia.

Mandai X is the growth accelerator and venture building arm of Mandai Wildlife Group that sparks, catalyses and accelerates innovative ventures in completely new domains that drive growth and impact at scale.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and perform tree inspections, including prescribing, documenting and following-up closely on tree maintenance and mitigation measures.
  • Review and formulate Best Management Practices, Standard Operation Procedures (SOP), Protocol, and hypothesize research methodology for tree inspection framework and tree maintenance.
  • Monitor and manage budget, contracts, financial tenders and projects.
  • Initiate to plan, propose and contribute towards department\'s annual work plans.
  • Leverage and innovate on digital and technological advancements to drive productivity and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive and instill Best Management Practices for arboriculture, including projects with Mandai Park Development (MPD).
  • Actively contribute to a culture of imparting and sharing of arboriculture knowledge and skills
  • Other relevant duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum Diploma / Degree in Forestry, Horticulture, Botany, Plant Science, Landscape Architect, Life Sciences, Environmental Science, Management or the equivalent.
  • At least 6 years of experience as a Professional and practicing International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist in the field of arboriculture work for Degree Holders and 10 years for Diploma Holders.
  • ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) will have an added advantage.
  • Must be able to perform 1 to 2 time(s) per month Horticulture Duty Officer role rostered basis over Weekends and Public Holidays.
  • Must be able to perform exigency of arboriculture services after office hours.
  • Experience in diagnostic skills in tree health, biomechanics and identification
  • Experience with procurement process
  • Excellent management, supervisory, communication and leadership skills.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and in a team setting.
  • Willing to work in an outdoor environment and adaptable to high work pace.
