Job Description


The Role Responsibilities

  • Candidate will deliver as a Business Solution lead within the Solutioning squad for FM Regulatory technology. They will collaborate and drive solutioning discussions amongst impacted/identified stakeholders.
  • Candidate will act as the enabler for efficient, healthy discussions which lead to innovative and fit-for-purpose Front to back solutions.
  • With a constant view on strategic roadmap of the programme, they will ensure all solutions have the desired level of impact assessment completed to provide needed confidence in the efficacy and suitability of the solution.
  • Candidate will be expected to document all the identified facets of the solution and motivate their tech counterparts to properly document their respective component-based solutions as well.
Strategy
  • Familiarise themselves with the strategic roadmap for the FM Reg Technology programmes.
  • Keep themselves updated with the latest industry updates and upcoming regulatory deadlines/milestones to identify/document the corresponding impact to the roadmap
  • Ensure that all proposed solutions are viewed with the appropriate strategic roadmap lens
  • Ensure that all solutions result in regulatory compliance, risk reduction and/or Long term efficiency of the regulatory reporting
Business
  • Familiarize themselves with the Front to back Business flows and keep this knowledge updated with every new solution proposal being worked on.
  • Be the go-to-person for any query related to Front-to-back impact of the final solution. Be the person who holds the key to proper, efficient, engine-like behaviour of the final solution.
  • Work very closely with the Discovery BAs, Compliance, Regulatory Operations, COO functions and FM technology teams to remain updated on the upcoming regulations, new business projects or any other development and the corresponding impact it will have on implemented solutions.
  • Document (clearly) the proposed solution in simple language and avoid using acronyms where possible. Ensure that the solution is understandable within the organization of developers, Product owners, Tech and Business management, COO and other Ops functions
  • Offer analytical capabilities to the group, to ensure innovative and fit-for-purpose solutions are arrived at. Take the initiative to be the change. Collaboratively and with proper governance, clarify any requirement/solution gaps identified.
Processes
  • Adhere to Agile delivery mindset and introduce improvements.
  • Clearly document proposed solutions using appropriate tools (workflow diagrams, SWOT matrix, presentation decks, etc) and ensure traceability from Business requirements to component-based solution to eventual implementation
  • Understand, use, and enhance the FM data models to improve data lineage and facilitate a comprehensive dictionary of reporting data elements
  • Identify, define the control processes with Regulatory Operations and COO to ensure we are always regulatory compliant.
People & Talent
  • Help with hiring of talented business analysts to augment the team, when required
Risk Management
  • Identify risks & issues and communicate them to the relevant stakeholders in a timely manner - assist with proposing & planning mitigating steps.
Governance
  • Ensure relevant stakeholders are engaged to define / approve business requirements / solutions and appropriate governance is followed
Regulatory & Business Conduct

Role Specific Technical Competencies
  • Regulatory regime knowledge and experience in EMIR/Dodd Frank/HKMA/MAS, SFTR or MiFID
  • Experience with the FICC product set and trade workflows (trade life cycle events)
  • Understanding of standard technology architectures patterns and processes within a sell side Financial Markets institution
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to document business requirements/Solutions in a clear and unambiguous style
  • Experience working with structured data models and data lineage
  • Agile mindset and familiarity of Agile delivery tools
