JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Business Analyst will play a key role in developing and maintaining a common understanding of projects\xe2\x80\x99 goals, objectives and scope. The Senior Business Analyst will work as part of the ESG T&I team to proactively engage stakeholders, product owners and elicit business requirements utilizing various techniques and methods to effectively document both the target state of the processes, people, technology and changes required to implement respective solutions addressing these requirements in a jointly agreed manner. The role will support project teams throughout entire project lifecycle (all stages) from inception through design, build to verification, and will play a key role when dealing with various governance processes to have the solution approved and successfully deployed. The role is also expected to lead and mentor one or more team members for their deliverables and where required guide+support the team\xe2\x80\x99s growth and career prospects. RESPONSIBILITIES Business Analysis, Solution Design and Tools

  • Gather, analyse and track business requirements and translate these into business solutions and Structures
  • Demonstrable evidence of managing a full project life cycle including project initiation, requirements specification, development, test planning, test execution, and post-implementation roll out
  • Understand the Strategy, imperatives and vision and translate these into outcomes.
  • Translate the business model into an operating model, considering customers, services, teams and governance
  • Able to analyse, produce and refine requirements and designs based on the elicitation results of a basic change request or simple / complex project
  • Able to specify, model, verify and validate requirements. Should be able to define requirements architecture and design optics and analyse potential value and recommend solutions which are aligned with meeting the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s strategic goals and architectural vision, or gain explicit approval for non-compliance
  • Prioritise requirements by assessing and documenting their impact and costs to the business. Help the Product Owners manage the product backlog by providing input and justifying prioritisation.
  • Ability and confidence to pick-up new Domains and deliver with minimum guidance and supervision
  • Perform analysis of the current state, and future state requirements. Provide solution options, along with high level estimates, impact assessments and technology recommendations.
  • Ensure that changes to the requirements are tracked, maintained and implemented in accordance with the defined change management procedures.
  • Understand the front to back risk business processes allowing for optimal requirements gathering and synergies between projects
  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with internal stakeholders from various units across the Bank
Business Analysis Documentation and Criteria Techniques
  • Has an overview or understanding the difference between the various deliverables that present the outcome of the analysis to the stakeholders and when they are best utilized \xe2\x80\x93 Concept Modelling /
  • Business Analysis rules / User Stories / Use cases and scenarios / Sequence diagrams / Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) / Target Operating Model (TOM) / Acceptance and evaluation criteria / Metrics and KPIs / Non-functional Requirements / etc
  • Translate the high-level product vision and initiatives into tangible, detailed requirements for the team (including developers and testers). This can be in the form of user stories, use case diagrams, requirements traceability matrix, process flows, or functional specifications.
Communication, Elicitation and Collaboration
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to elicit solution requirements to ensure innovative, smart
  • scalable solutions which adhere to the Banks standards are identified.
  • Co-ordinate with the teams to resolve issues (thru clarification, data fixes and program fixes
  • following required process) in development & test environments and act to clear the roadblocks in the early stages of the project itself
  • Facilitate sessions with stakeholders for simple elicitation activities, or supports others for complex elicitation activities and can adapt the session to elicit information relevant to the change and handle impromptu elicitation / discovery sessions and structure the findings / actions Influence senior stakeholders
  • Communicate effectively with the ability to influence the stakeholders and to lead the team for attaining the project end goals
  • Strategize, implement, and oversee processes for increased productivity and growth
  • Establish and grow relationships with appropriate partners and stakeholders
  • Ability to learn, adapt to new ideas and demonstrate / showcase the same to the larger audience
  • Support developers and testers by providing the first level of functional clarifications during development and prepare UAT test cases for testing phase.
  • Using appropriate communication tools and techniques (e.g., written, presentation, meeting, workshop, interview) to create your desired outcome
  • Possess strong negotiation and influencing skills, and ability to manage negotiations so that acceptable agreement between multiple parties is obtained.

  • Experience working with data integration or experience working with visual requirements including but not limited to: logical data and process models, wire frames, workflow diagrams, context diagrams and/or user interface mock-ups
  • Understand and employ the various techniques to relatively simple (or complex) changes / projects that typically span a single / multiple IT system or business process area. Techniques like benchmarking, market analysis, process analysis, interface analysis, data mining, SWOT analysis, data flow analysis, etc

  • Ability to deliver results with minimal supervision in a dynamic and often ambiguous environment
  • Manage and understand self-capacity and that of the team(s)
  • Must have worked on global enterprise scale application developments and implementations, preferably in an Agile environment

Risk Mitigation (Grade 6 and above)
  • Continually reassess the operational risks and likelihood of operational risk occurring. This will be achieved by reviewing risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new processes.
  • o Should address any areas of concern with line management and / or the appropriate business stakeholders. Effective and timely remedial action should be evidenced
Mentoring / Coaching (Grade 6 and above)
  • Support the wider Business Analysis community, providing training, peer reviews, consultative advice and performing mentoring / coaching activities.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate others
  • Partner and consult closely with various stakeholders, leaders, managers to assess and evaluate learning needs and diagnose the root cause of capability gaps that contribute to strategic learning needs

Knowledge of technology
  • Ability to quickly absorb and learn new systems, methodologies, processes, etc
  • Proficient in tools such as Microsoft Office, Confluence, JIRA, Mural, Trello

Strategy
  • Assist Product Manager and Line of work squads in shaping up the Roadmap for deliverables eventually taking the complete ownership for Roadmap delivery
  • Work with Chapter leads to strategize the resource requirements / skillsets based on the roadmap that is defined

Governance
  • Represent BA team in various governance forums like Scrum of Scrums, Sprint entry/exit forums etc
  • Provide BA team status updates to governance reporting forums
  • Ensure scrum team deliveries are aligned with overall project objectives and schedule
  • Escalate risk and issues by raising RAID and resolve these in conjunction with the rest of the team and/or the vendor

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as a technology Business Analyst is required with 8+ years of experience in Banking and Financial Industry
  • Exposure to Agile ways of working and involvement in end to end implementation preferred
  • Strong Knowledge of Client Lifecycle, KYC, and CDD policy areas within banking / financial industry.
  • Knowledge and exposure to ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) space would be an added advantage.
  • Certification in Business Analysis, Agile methodology, Product Ownership is added advantage
  • Strong analytical and product management skills, including thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate into application and operational requirements.
  • Experience in working in fast paced environment interacting with Front, Middle and Back Office groups.
  • Proactive, self-starter, autonomous, self-motivated, solution and delivery oriented
  • Self-starter who is meticulous in following up to deliver on all project deadlines and can work individually with minimal supervision.
  • Thrives in an energetic and dynamic environment and can successfully work well under pressure while handling multiple tasks with tight timelines.
