Grab Data Warehouse team is responsible for developing business intelligence systems using data from all lines of businesses in order to provide business insights to key stakeholders across the company.Get to know the role:We are seeking a seasoned Lead Data Engineer to spearhead the design and enhancement of our data warehouse systems. The Lead Data Engineer is a pivotal figure within the data warehouse team, driving the development of data warehouse systems and collaborating closely with stakeholders from multiple lines of business (LOBs).The day-to-day activities:

• Lead all aspects of data warehouse system development, including technical design, development, testing, deployment, and support, ensuring scalability and flexibility to integrate with multiple LOBs.
• Act as the primary liaison with Product, Business and Engineering stakeholders to define and review technical specifications.
• Guide team members consisting of data engineers to design and implement scalable ETL jobs, data models, scripts and data assets.
• Promote horizontal, organization-wide visibility through regionally metric measurements and insights across different business functions and teams.
• Establish and maintain best practices for change management, documentation, and data protocols.
• Identify system and application metrics, develop dashboards and monitoring for system metrics and thresholds.
• Engage in technical and product discussions, code reviews, and solutioning.

QualificationsThe Must-haves

• Bachelor degree in Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 6-7 years of experience developing Data Warehouses or Business Intelligence solutions.
• Proven experience leading a team and making sound and scalable technical decisions.
• Deep understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, data architecture, and big data concepts.
• Deep experience with Big Data frameworks such as Spark, Airflow, Hive, Flink, Kafka etc.
• Comprehensive understanding of performance, scalability, and reliability concepts.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala or SQL.
• Experience with developing end-to-end data solutions on AWS.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

The Nice-to-haves

• Experience with design, performance tuning or query optimization of big data warehouse systems.
• Experience with Stream processing technologies such as Kafka, Spark streaming, etc.
• Experience with common frameworks and warehousing concepts, batch or streaming processing.
• Experience working closely with Analytics stakeholders in Artificial Intelligence or Data Science space.
