What the role is:The Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) which aims to pioneer innovation solutions and develop world class science and technology capabilities to transform and empower the Home Team in delivering safety and security for Singapore. We are looking for candidates to fulfill a role in Enterprise Comms & Digital Infra as Engineer/ Lead Engineer reporting to Head, Sensor Deployment. He/ She will be part of a dynamic team involved in deploying cutting-edge sensors island-wide that will enable cognitive analytics in an efficient and sustainable approach for the Home Team departments.What you will be working on:The principal accountabilities of the job holder to: \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensure timely delivery of projects within the committed schedule and budget ensuring project issues are timely resolved or escalated to management for attention. \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide regular update to HTX management on the project progress highlighting project milestones, issues and track project expenditure. \xe2\x80\xa2 Effectively engage and manage all relevant stakeholders to deliver system. \xe2\x80\xa2 Identify, manage project risks and implications to the project and to recommend mitigating measures \xe2\x80\xa2 Manage contractual and payment matters affecting the projects and ensure that systems are operating according to service level agreements \xe2\x80\xa2 Understand the various prevailing policies and security guidelines and to ensure the system and processes are designed to comply with these policies and guidelines \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensure proper integration and testing of all hardware and software components so the system is delivered according to contractual requirements. Depending on candidate\'s suitability, he/ she can be tasked with one or more of the following secondary accountabilities: \xe2\x80\xa2 Work with external agencies and/or Home Team Departments (HTDs) to enhance and enable intelligence on existing or new sensor system through augmented analytics \xe2\x80\xa2 Optimizing sensors deployed to minimise duplications through data engineering \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data acquired with good knowledge on Cybersecurity practices \xe2\x80\xa2 Collaborate with various teams to integrate sensors to backend applications and interface seamlessly with AI and data engineering team \xe2\x80\xa2 Collaborate with various agencies to maximize the synergies from the Whole-Of Government approach \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to simplify ideas, present and engage stake holders and senior management. \xe2\x80\xa2 Keep abreast of technological advances in Sensors, data analysis, continual refinement of architectures and government policies & recommendations, etcWhat we are looking for:Candidates should possess: \xe2\x80\xa2 Tertiary qualification in computer science, electrical engineering, information systems, or other related Engineering. Applicants with postgraduate qualifications and/or more than 5 years of experience working in the relevant technology domains will be considered for senior positions. \xe2\x80\xa2 At least 3 years of relevant networking working experience for Engineer/Lead Engineer and at least 8 years for Principal Engineer in a suitably sized enterprise environment. Fresh Graduate without working experience will also be considered. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong understanding in one or more of the following areas: o Deployment and maintenance of Large-scale Front-End Sensors o Work with multiple stakeholders on verifications of optimal on-site deployment o Good understanding on System and Network Integration o Infrastructure Construction to support ICT equipment (e.g. Structures, Electrical, Network Installation, Wireless Transmission, etc.) o Cybersecurity on edge sensors integration \xe2\x80\xa2 Candidate with knowledge video surveillance technology, including transmission technology, data storage system and data security technology; and experience in critical operation activities will have an added advantage \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong planning and project management skills, with facilitation skills, problem-solving skills and organising capabilities. Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification would be an advantage. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong interest in technology and innovation. \xe2\x80\xa2 Competent, self-motivated, pro-active, dedicated and responsible as well as having the ability to work independently without the need for close supervision. All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
