The FairPrice Group Chain Business Unit (FPG SC BU) is a key logistics service provider to NTUC FairPrice Group. You will be a key member contributing towards the
Mobility Planning & Operations
department with a specific mandate to lead
Future Mobility & Sustainability
. This position will be responsible for defining the future of our transport network by deploying
Autonomous Vehicle (AV)
technology and leading the fleet transition to
Electric Vehicles (EV)
. You will ensure these transformations are operationally viable, integrated with our systems, and aligned with our corporate sustainability goals.
Responsibilities
EV Fleet Transition & Sustainability:
Lead the strategic roadmap for converting the commercial fleet from Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) to Electric Vehicles (EV) to achieve carbon emission reduction targets.
Charging Infrastructure Strategy:
Design and execute the charging infrastructure network plan, including depot-based charging and public network partnerships, ensuring power capacity and hardware meet operational uptime requirements.
Operational Viability Analysis:
Conduct deep-dive analysis of route data (mileage, dwell time, payload) to match the right EV models to specific logistics lanes, ensuring no disruption to service levels (e.g., managing range anxiety and charging downtime).
AV Strategy & Deployment:
Lead the end-to-end deployment of Autonomous Vehicles across various logistics use cases (e.g., yard automation, middle-mile trunking and last mile) and integrate them into the daily workflow.Drive the 5 year AV strategy ensuring real time deployment and integration with our WMS and TMS systems.
Process Redesign & Future Workforce:
Redefine operational process flows to accommodate a mixed fleet (EV/AV/ICE); design new workstreams and training for the workforce to operate high-tech vehicles.
Regulatory & Grants Management:
Act as the primary liaison with regulators for AV compliance and approvals; collaborate with agencies to secure funding for green mobility and automation projects.
System Integration:
Oversee the integration of EV battery management data and AV telematics into the central Transport Management System (TMS) for real-time visibility.
2. CRITICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
KEY RESULT AREAS (KRA)
MAJOR ACTIVITIES / OUTCOME
Autonomous Vehicle and Electric Vehicle Deployment
Successfully execute AV pilots and deployment phases within agreed timelines. Achieve operational integration where AVs actively contribute to daily logistics volume.Successfully convert target percentage of fleet to EV within timelines.Establish a fully functional, operationally viable charging network (AC/DC) at key hubs.
Process Re-engineering & Workforce Readiness
Develop and document "To-Be" process maps for human-AV interaction. Define and roll out training programs/SOPs for the workforce to operate alongside AVs safely.Ensure EV/AV introduction maintains or improves Cost-to-Serve and On-Time Delivery metrics.Optimize charging schedules to minimize operational downtime.
Strategic Partnerships & Funding
Secure regulatory approvals/licenses from regulators for operational trials. Successfully secure and utilize funding/grants to offset project costs and drive ROI.
System & Tech Integration
Ensure 100% data connectivity between AV units and central logistics planning systems. Establish robust fail-safe protocols and exception management workflows.
