Report directly to technical manager on the work progress report of the schedule vessels machinery or equipment shut down for maintenance, repair and servicing of marine machinery & subsystem conducted by sub-ordinate.
Supervision of a team of mechanics for safe shutdown, isolation, overhauling, calibration, commissioning & testing of marine main propulsion 4-stroke diesel engines, auxiliary machinery, Cargo pumps, deck machinery and monitoring of daily work activities & progress.
Team leader for a group of Electrical engineers, automation engineers or electro-hydraulic engineers on matters related to fault diagnosis, safe isolation, status, and the related work.
Plan with sub-ordinate and instruct daily activities related to repairing machinery, equipment, or system fault diagnosis.
Execute tasks/activities, standard maintenance, and repair work such as preventive & corrective maintenance to be safely & effectively executed in workshop or onboard vessel such as engine room, pump room or deck.
Ensure all site executions are performed in accordance with all maintenance work procedures following makers standards, safety processes and or Class requirement to ensure quality, asset integrity and operational reliability.
Report any problems to Technical Manager or issues with sitework or sub-ordinates.
Supervise, guide, track & report on the assembling completion, alignment, re-commissioning, and test of mechanical & rotary equipment performed by mechanics to ensure machinery reliability upon start up.
Maintain calibration, spares replacement records and test logs of machineries / equipment been serviced.
Perform equipment or system testing/commissioning / Inspections / Pre-Startup Safety Review prior to handing over to technical team upon maintenance / project completion.
Assist to maintain spare parts inventory levels in warehouse, support delivery checks by suppliers, and maintain good preservation / housekeeping in the workspace.
Ability to identify critical paths in a repair or maintenance process and highlight technical team on the counter measure to be taken.
Participate in regular toolbox talks and other meetings as required.
Responsible for execution of periodical tests and verification to ensure the special tools, lifting equipment and including safety appliances are in good working condition.
Responsible for execution of pre commissioning activities with sub-ordinates related to mechanical, rotary, or hydraulic equipment (e.g. alignment checks, under piston or crankcase inspections, seal checks, supports checks, piping connection checks, lubrication, preservation condition, priming and purging etc.) in accordance with the pre- commissioning procedure.
Responsible for execution of pre commissioning activities with sub-ordinates related to electrical or automation equipment (e.g. alignment checks, bump test, electrical connection checks, alarms, and safety trips etc.) in accordance with the pre- commissioning procedure.
Well verse with Engineering PI&D, hydraulic & pneumatic circuitry and familiar with electrical drawing.
Familiar with welding & thermal methodology repair requirements, metallurgy and material selection.
Familiar with LOTO ( Lock Out & Tag Out) & Risk Assessment process.
Planned weekly activities as per priority given by technical team and ensure smooth workflow.
Ensure that all sub-ordinates practice and comply to permit to work system and good HSE practices.
Produced weekly maintenance report to Technical manager.
Plan attendance with mechanics for vessels that are in shipyard for repair and attend daily VSCC meeting and ensure daily task and commissioning activities are highlighted during meeting.
Carry out others urgent task as required by Technical manager.
Requirement
Preferably to have sea going or offshore experience as marine engineer MEO in compliance with STCW Standard of competencies, 3000 KW or More, meeting STCW Standard A-III/3 at least.
Added advantage with strong background in shipyard repair as project manager, project supervisor or Ship Repair Manager.
Added advantage with strong background as service engineer experience with marine diesel engines, turbochargers or marine equipment servicing.
Added advantage with good academic qualification in tertiary education in Marine engineering, Marine technology, or Mechanical Engineering or Aero Engineering
Familiar with regulatory and legislative shipping industry environment.
Strong leadership and communication skills with good safety and supervisory attitude.
Highly motivated and able to work in a team and in a dynamic environment.
Able to communicate well and Fluency in English in both written and spoken.
Minimum be able to use Outlook for email communication, MS Words for report writing and basic use of Excel spreadsheet.
Medically fit to work onshore in workshop as well as onboard vessel in Singapore anchorage or in shipyard.
