Overview and purpose of the position

Based in HQ, Lead Mammography Service will work closely with the Lead Radiographer. The key roles shall include maintaining and enhancing the Breast Screening Singapore (BSS) services, guide and support to Mammographers at polyclinics and manage relationship with stakeholders (vendors, clinical ICs, service leads) at polyclinics. Lead Mammographer maintaining SOPs and monthly management report as required for Quality Improvement and audit purposes. Using your own initiative and NUHS WeCare attitudes in responding to the needs of the service, you shall have a strong focus on streamlining the patient pathway through the imaging department. This role would be leading the breast service at National University Polyclinic.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with the Lead Radiographer and a team of Radiographers in ensuring BSS audit compliance
• Support the BSS service by reviewing contracts, oversees administration of BSS portal, and take initiative for service improvement.
• Be responsible for the daily management of the Mammography Service in liaison with the Superintendent Radiographers and organising the daily work programme to ensure that the department runs efficiently
• Responsible to conduct training and coaching of trainee/junior radiographers in mammography, including arranging for accreditation of trainees and maintaining training documentation.
• Keep up to date with developments in Breast imaging and take full responsibility for the teaching of other staff
• Monitor and upkeep the annual competency of mammographers
• Ensure QA/QC programmes are implemented and executed effectively.
• Maintain and update departmental BSS and mammography protocols and relevant training materials.
• Conduct internal and external BSS audit preparation.
• Ensure that monitoring standards provide a high quality service for patient care, technical performance and reporting.
• Accurately analyse the acquired data, record results and produce high quality images for reporting.
• Liaison person with Health Promotion Board and Assessment Centre on BSS related matter
• Assist to generate monthly statistical and management report as needed
• Assist on sourcing request form and tender specification for Radiography related procurement

Secondary duties

• Perform high quality clinical imaging duties in mammography and one or more of the following areas: general radiography, ultrasound, Bone Mineral Densitometry.
• Perform any other clinical duties as assigned by reporting officer. \xef\x82\xb7 Oversee the smooth operations of respective area. Ensuring that all patients being imaged receive a high standard of care.
• Adhere to safe work practices especially in radiation safety and infection.
• Responsible for the safety and welfare of the patients.

Qualification Required and Area of Discipline

• BSc or DCR in Radiography as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Mammography will be advantageous
• Registration with Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC)
• Substantial mammography experience (minimum of 5 years) including interventional experience.
• Knowledge of radiation regulations.
• Be fully conversant with the Radiology Information System (RIS), PACS, and the computerized method of patient and examination documentation.

• Sufficient and relevant technical knowledge of the Healthcare Service ACT, regulatory frameworks, systems, technology, tools, and processes associated with diagnostic imaging
• In-depth knowledge of the associated apprenticeship standard, assessment plan, specification, assessment instruments and recording tools
