Act as Subject Matters Expert (SME) on matters related to process safety, loss prevention, environment, occupational health, and compliance.
Provide technical assistance and advice covering but not limited to safety management systems, process safety, fire prevention, quantitative risk analysis and behavioural safety to ensure minimization of losses and prevention of fires.
Carry out design safety philosophy, develop specifications for fire protection systems (active & passive), data sheet for firefighting systems.
Calculate fire water requirements for brownfield/greenfield projects and integrate new facilities with existing systems.
Assist/Participate/Lead process hazard reviews and analysis including HAZOP/HAZID/SIL studies and carry out actions close-out
Review P&IDs from process safety point of view and provide constructive recommendation for improving safety in design
Consolidate HSSE action item register and coordinate with engineering disciplines for closure of action points.
Independently carry out analysis and design of active and passive fire protection systems and prepare hazardous area classification documentation, safety & firefighting layouts, and other safety drawings.
Review and co-ordinate third party process safety studies including FERA, dispersion analysis, BIA, EIA, QRA studies, etc.
Communicate effectively, collaborate, and convince all stakeholders on the process safety outcome (key findings and recommendations) in amicable manner. Take responsibility for adequate closure of process safety risks and ensure proper documentation.
Carry out process safety audit for oil and gas plants, LNG terminals etc.
Act as a support to package engineer for safety & firefighting equipment.
Interact/co-ordinate with Designers & provide inputs for safety layout preparations for projects as required.
Multitask to support team with additional project engineering/coordination type activities as deemed necessary by head of department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:The person in this position currently shall not have supervisory responsibility.QUALIFICATIONS.
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in chemical engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
Minimum 10 years HSE Engineering experience (technical safety/process safety) in the Oil & Gas industry, LNG experience is preferred.
Possess good knowledge of Oil & Gas facilities, regulatory codes & standards, and the ability to influence designs to achieve optimal HSE outcomes.
Experience in design projects for Offshore (FPSO/Platforms) and Onshore (Refineries, LNG facilities, Storage terminal etc).
Familiar with HAZID, HAZOP, SIL reviews and other safety reviews (e.g. SIMOPS, ALARP) preferred.
Good working knowledge in PIPENET Vision, FLARESIM and other consequence modelling software such as DNV PHAST etc is preferred.
Candidate shall be a good team player and have pro-active inter-discipline communication.
Excellent communication skills, fluency in English, proficient in Microsoft office.
