:PACKAGING ENGINEER LEAD - ASIAFantastic opportunity to be part of a Product-Package engineering, and shipment process for Williams-Sonoma, Inc. Our products are also available to customers through our catalogs and online worldwide.Purpose of this Function:Driving a clear vision and strategy for packaging that is proactive, and solution oriented by understanding consumer, business, and brand category needs. Bring forward innovation in the packaging for WSI Brands and secure protection of our products while meeting international standards. Secure and drive a strong competence within the organization for cost effectiveness in a highly dynamic supply chain, maintaining a high-quality packaging for our brands. This will be done in cooperation with brand designers, sourcing teams and vendors during the product development of new products.Key Responsibilities:

  • Take the Lead in Packaging Quality, developing packaging solutions, and ensure testing requirements are updated.
  • Oversee Regional QA Packaging Team to ensure consistent Product Packaging Quality, Shipment Logistics, and on-time Project deliveries.
  • Proactive in Identifying Process improvements, analyze performance metrics, to provide best practices in packaging options necessary to meet, consumer requirements, functional parameters, cost targets, manufacturing & shipping requirements.
  • Work within the furniture Product Development process to create Packaging diagrams and draft product/packaging for 2D/3D CAD drawings, to clearly visualize Components.
  • Set Key Metrics to measure overall performance and financial projections and budget tracking in packaging.
  • Present and Communicate compliance requirements between brands, designers, engineers and stakeholders on packaging improvement processes, standard operating procedures, and Packaging guides.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Package Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing or related fields.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in package engineering of home furnishing within E-Commerce business.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills managing a team, excellent communication, and interpersonal soft skills, with experience on Inter-team & cross-department cooperation.
  • Strong Knowledge and technical competence in ISTA Product-Package Standards, Procedures, Global Safety Compliance and Testing Standards.
  • Experience in Product Protection, Packaging Material Knowledge, Shipment Loading efficiency practices and of Environmental Impact.
  • Microsoft Office tools and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge in Shipment logistics is a plus and Container loading is good to have.
  • Possess good documentation skills in Microsoft Office (Knowledge in Microsoft Power Platform is a plus)
  • Ability to interface and understand 2D/3D CAD drawings is a plus.
  • Motivated individuals with keen interest to work in the Home Furnishing Industry - Furniture, Lighting, Decorative Accessories, Textile Products.
