Get to Know the Team
The Ads Technology team plays an important role in this mission, offering advanced advertising solutions. We employ a microservice architecture for backend development and leverage different frontend technologies like iOS, Android, Flutter, and Web to serve our diverse user base, including consumers, drivers, merchants, and partners. Operating across seven countries, our goal is to help businesses reach their target audiences and enhance conversion rates through precise advertising delivery and impactful marketing strategies. We transform our microservices into platforms to speed up the market introduction of new products and follow an system principle, allowing systems to improve based on feedback without human intervention.
Get to Know the Role
As part of the Grab Ads team, you will be at the forefront of managing the entire lifecycle of advertisements-from creation to serving and reporting. You will work with a diverse range of tech stacks. Our vision is to increase economic growth by building a platform that helps people discover, engage, and connect with the best businesses in Southeast Asia.
You will report to the Head of Engineering and work onsite at Grab One North Office.
This is an Individual Contributor role.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Design and develop using the latest Go language to enhance the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Grab's diverse services.
• Address the challenges of high qps, ensuring high availability and low latency in our services.
• Participate in code and design reviews to uphold Grab's development standards.
• Participate in service capacity and demand planning, along with software performance analysis, tuning, and optimization.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to explore and create new designs and architectures aimed at scalability and performance.
• Partner with product and design teams to define and prototype feature specifications.
• Partner with the infrastructure team to build backend services and conduct root cause analysis investigations.

Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Stay informed about relevant technology trends and developments and embrace the latest technologies.
• Hold a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in software development.
• Have Computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
• Understanding of system performance and scaling.
• Be proficient in any programming language, with a willingness to work with Golang.
• Be passionate about developing products, features, and platforms to increase business growth.
• Experience developing software systems for the advertising industry.
• Experience with AI technologies and solutions.
