Job Description

We are hiring a Leading Commissioning Engineer for our client in the marine industry. This role will lead the end-to-end commissioning of ICT, telecom, and navigational systems for offshore platforms, vessels, and facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and safety protocols. The position involves planning, system integration, technical coordination, documentation, and handover, while supervising commissioning teams and troubleshooting complex ICT/telecom issues.
Responsibilities
Commissioning Planning & Execution
Take charge of planning, organizing, and supervising commissioning activities for ICT, telecom, and navigational systems across offshore platforms, vessels (such as FPSOs), and related facilities.
Develop commissioning strategies, FAT/SAT procedures, and test plans in alignment with client requirements, classification society rules (ABS, DNV, etc.), and recognized industry standards.
System Commissioning & Integration
Manage the commissioning process for telecommunication systems.
Ensure ICT systems are seamlessly integrated with platform automation and control systems.
Coordination & Interface Management
Collaborate with vendors, construction contractors, and client teams to ensure systems are properly installed, configured, and tested.
Oversee the management of interfaces between multiple subsystems to achieve smooth integration.
Documentation & Compliance
Review, validate, and maintain commissioning records.
Ensure all activities and systems comply with HSE guidelines, cybersecurity requirements, and applicable technical standards.
System Handover & Operational Readiness
Prepare handover packages and support client acceptance of commissioned systems.
Deliver as-built records, configuration backups, and training to client or operations teams.
Resolve outstanding punch-list issues and finalize commissioning deliverables for telecom and ICT packages.
Team Leadership & Reporting
Supervise commissioning teams (engineers and technicians) in both onshore and offshore environments.
Track progress and provide commissioning updates to project management.
Troubleshoot complex ICT and telecom network issues encountered during integration and testing.
Requirements
Degree or diploma in Electronics, Telecommunications, or ICT Engineering.
7-10 years' commissioning experience in the marine or offshore oil & gas sector.
Strong expertise in telecommunications, navigational systems, and ICT network infrastructure.
Proficiency in IP addressing, VLAN setup, network security, and industrial communication protocols.
Familiarity with offshore industry standards and safety requirements; BOSIET/HUET certification preferred.
Practical experience with FAT, SAT, and on-site commissioning processes.
