[What the role is]

The Centre for Life Skills equips full-time TP students, working adults and industry partners with effective life skills and personal skills to enhance their value in the workplace.

[What you will be working on]

Deliver PET and CET subjects/programmes in MOE LifeSkills and SSG Critical Core Skills, and be involved in developing/teaching one or more of the following: Communication Skills / Critical Thinking Skills / Personal & Interpersonal Effectiveness (including Career Readiness, Character & Leadership)

Develop, coordinate and conduct life skills training courses programmes for lecturers and staff

Nurture students to communicate with clarity and competence, enhance their proficiency in presentation delivery and confidence in engaging prospective employers, clients and industry partners.

Provide guidance to students on employability skills

Review, design and develop course materials and assessments for subjects offered by the Centre.

Develop interesting and creative teaching methods to engage youths and adult learners in tutorials.

Participate in any academic related areas, preferably in developing and participating in pedagogical applied research, with digitalization efforts like AR/VR and gamification in education.

Provide pastoral care for students.

Support TP in various internal and external training programmes, management of events, as well as other school and polytechnic level committee work.

[What we are looking for]

Minimum of three years of teaching or work experience in at least two areas such as, Communication Skills, Mass Communication, Critical Thinking, Character & Citizenship Education, Leadership & Student Development, Career Counselling, or work experience in a related field.

Relevant professional certification or experience in the following area(s): CELTA, ACLP, advanced certification in career development facilitation etc. / Curriculum design, development and assessment for both face-to-face and online courses.

Ability to lead and facilitate discussions, mediate opinions and evaluate reasoning.

Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment, both independently and in teams.

Ability to conduct lessons for both face-to-face and online environments.

People-oriented with strong interpersonal, written and communication skills.

Strong facilitation skills to facilitate workshops for staff and students.

Proficiency in the use of social media and digital tools for facilitation and curriculum development.

Candidates with pedagogy/andragogy experience in augmented reality, virtual reality and gamification in education, and with EdTech tools.
