The job of an academic is challenging and meaningful. Not only will he/she have both the knowledge and skillsets, he/she must also possess a passion for working with youths, nurturing them, and moulding their characters. There will be opportunities to develop the curriculum, introduce new courses as well as be involved in consultancy and other applied research projects. Administrative work related to teaching and School/Institutional strategic initiatives will be an important part of the job too. Successful candidates will be expected to be resourceful and innovative with initiative and good communication skills.

The appointee must be competent to teach in any of the following subjects:

• Engineering Materials
• Thermofluids
• Engineering Thermodynamics

Responsibilities:

• Develop modules and conduct both industry-relevant full-time and part-time courses to internal stakeholders, students, and industry personnel.

• Inspire, facilitate, and guide students through effective teaching and learning activities.
• Serve as a personal tutor/mentor providing pastoral care for students.
• Collaborate with industry to enhance students\xe2\x80\x99 learning through activities such as industry learning journeys, student-industry projects, internship program and overseas programme.
• Engage industry pro-actively through collaborations and projects.

• Provide administrative support in the running of the diploma course and general school operations.

Requirements:

• Relevant qualification in the field of Mechanical Engineering with skillsets/knowledge in the areas of Product Design and Plastics Modelling.
• Proficient in using 3D Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Engineering
• Knowledge of CAE simulation, such as mould flow analysis, will be an added advantage.
• Candidates with relevant experiences working in the fields of Rapid Transit Technology or Aerospace will also be considered for the post.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Self-driven, independent and a team player.
• Proactive individual who enjoys interacting with both students and stakeholders.
• Passionate about education and possess strong interest in teaching and mentoring both young adults and adult learners.

Successful applicant will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
