What the role is:Temasek Polytechnic is seeking a dynamic Lecturer to deliver courses in Law, Technology, and Business to adult learners. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing mature students for career advancement or transition by offering high-quality education and practical skills. The role requires a learner-centered approach, with a focus on practical applications of theory, flexibility in teaching methods, and an understanding of adult education principles. This role is within the School of Business.What you will be working on:Teaching & Facilitation: - Deliver engaging and practical lectures, workshops, and seminars in areas of Law, Technology, and/or Business, specifically designed for adult learners. - Develop flexible and accessible course materials that reflect the needs and learning styles of adult students, emphasizing real-world applications and industry relevance. - Provide practical examples, case studies, and scenarios that relate to current trends in law, technology, and business, ensuring the learning experience is applicable to career development. Course & Curriculum Development: - Contribute to the design and review of adult-learning curricula, ensuring the integration of current industry trends and emerging topics. - Develop assessments, projects, and activities that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving in a professional context. - Use a range of teaching methods, including online and blended learning, to cater to the diverse needs of adult learners balancing education with work and life responsibilities. Student Support: - Provide academic and career guidance tailored to adult learners, understanding their unique challenges and goals. - Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages adult learners to contribute from their professional experiences and perspectives. Engagement with Industry & Research: - Maintain connections with relevant industries to ensure course content remains current and aligned with job market needs. - Stay informed of new laws, technologies, and business practices that can enhance the learning experience. Administration & Collaboration: - Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum planning sessions, and professional development initiatives. - Collaborate with colleagues across departments to enhance the interdisciplinary nature of the programs. - Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessments.What we are looking for:Qualifications & Experience: - Academic training in Law, Business, Technology or a related field. - Expertise in the intersection of law, technology, and business, with the ability to teach topics such as intellectual property, digital transformation, or business strategy. - Strong professional experience or industry background in law, technology, or business is highly desirable.
