Legal & Compliance Associate (south Asia)

Job Description

The Legal & Compliance Associate plays a key role in supporting Nitto's commitment to strong corporate governance, brand value, and regulatory compliance across the South Asia region. The role provides exposure to both legal advisory and stakeholder engagement work, with opportunities for professional development in cross-cultural and international business settings.





Key Responsibilities



1. Brand Value and Event Support



Participate in customer-facing events such as Nitto Discovery Day and ATP-Final Public Viewing, supporting planning, logistics, and operations. Gather and analyze feedback to develop proposals that enhance future event effectiveness. Provide risk management and contract support from a legal perspective to ensure event compliance and stakeholder safety.

2. Compliance & Governance Support



Assist in strengthening governance and compliance systems across regional offices. Support enhancements to internal whistleblowing processes and issue-resolution protocols. Participate in the development and implementation of compliance policies and internal control procedures across South Asia offices.

3. Legal Advisory and Contract Management



Review and provide advice on commercial and partnership agreements across South Asia. Work with local subsidiaries to ensure contract terms are aligned with regional laws and company policies. Liaise with external legal counsel and participate in relevant legal training sessions.

4. Cross-Cultural and Communication Development



Collaborate with multinational teams to support knowledge sharing and cultural understanding. Contribute to local community or outreach programs, where relevant. Continuously strengthen communication and business language skills to support international wor

Qualifications and Requirements



Education



Bachelor's Degree in Law from an accredited university. Additional certifications in corporate law, compliance, or international law are advantageous.

Experience



Minimum 5 years of experience in a corporate legal role, with a focus on contract review, legal advisory, and compliance matters. Demonstrated experience managing a diverse portfolio of legal matters, such as research collaborations, licensing, and strategic partnerships.

Skills



Sound understanding of contract and corporate law principles. Ability to manage multiple legal issues under tight timelines. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with cross-functional teams and external partners. Detail-oriented, analytical, and solution-focused. * Proficiency in English (business-level). Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., Japanese) will be an advantage but is
