OVERVIEW

Moneythor is currently seeking a Legal and Compliance Director to take charge of our legal and compliance functions, reporting into our COO. Your solid background in contract management and negotiations, along with compliance expertise, will be pivotal in helping to shape best practices and contribute to an extraordinary team that places high value on your skills and dedication. Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management: Collaborate on the review, drafting, and negotiation of various agreements and contracts, such as software and SaaS license agreements, partner agreements, vendor agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and service agreements. Ensure that contracts align with company policies and legal requirements. Liaise with outside counsel and subject matter experts as needed.
  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research on topics related to software, technology, intellectual property, and data privacy. Summarize findings and provide recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Compliance: Assist in ensuring the company\'s compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Keep up-to-date with legal developments that could impact the software industry.
  • Document Management: Organize and maintain legal documents, agreements, and records in an electronic document management system. Establish an efficient system for easy retrieval and tracking of important legal documents.
  • Training and Education: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver legal training sessions for employees. Increase awareness of legal issues and compliance requirements across the organization.
  • Enterprise Sales Support: Provide legal assistance to the enterprise sales team for a wide range of commercial agreements in support of sales transactions. Review, negotiate, and redline agreements, and engage in live negotiations with clients.
  • Legal Guidance: Exercise sound judgment in making legal and business decisions, providing timely guidance to internal business teams. Work closely with cross-functional teams to address legal and business challenges.
  • Process Enhancement: Offer ongoing input on processes and policies to drive growth, capture new insights and drive best practices within Moneythor.
  • Project Management: Manage various contract-related projects and perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Paralegal Studies, Law, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience working in a legal department or law firm, with specific exposure to software, technology, or intellectual property law strongly preferred.
  • Good understanding of contract law and experience in contract drafting, review and negotiations.
  • Experience with compliance programs, data privacy laws and regulatory requirements such as GDPR and CCPA, in the software sector is a plus.
  • Familiarity with intellectual property concepts, including copyrights, trademarks, and patents.
  • Excellent research skills and the ability to analyze complex legal issues.
  • Proficient in using legal research databases and tools.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
