This is an exciting opportunity to join the Legal & Compliance department as Legal Counsel. You will be responsible for the day-to-day legal affairs including wide array of corporate, commercial and compliance matters. The role will also provide operational support to portfolio companies, aimed at driving long-term quality, innovation and consistency across Asia Pacific.

Description

• Provide guidance to team members on complex legal matters
• Act as a key stakeholder and manage relationships with various departments
• Support the General Counsel in overseeing legal operations and ensuring quality of service delivery, including budgeting, billing, tracking of team goals and reporting of KPIs
• Identify opportunities to expand legal and compliance support and execute such opportunities in collaboration with Legal & Compliance
• Partner with global data privacy team on data and cybersecurity related matters in APAC
• Review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts and legal documents, including engagement letters and non-disclosure agreements
• Review funding and corporate secretarial documents for investment vehicles domiciled in various jurisdictions
• Attend to KYC requests from external parties on investment structures, including preparing and consolidating KYC materials and confirmations
• Review and advise on financing related matters, in particular ISDA and hedging transactions
• Coordinate declarations in India REITs to the REIT managers
• Conduct Singapore investment committee meetings and board meetings relating to Real Estate transactions, including liaising with external counsel and finalizing minutes
• Work closely with the business teams to provide legal advice on issues (e.g. tax, finance/accounting, employment, corporate and commercial) together with resolution plan
• Onboard new portfolio companies and provide ongoing operational legal support, including conducting third party vendor screenings, contract reviews, trademark application coordination, policy formulation and employment matters
• Draft and update standard operating procedure (SOP) documenting the tasks, processes and workflows undertaken by the legal team

Profile

• Bachelor of Law degree from a recognised university with (Second Upper Honours)
• At least 6 years PQE in an established law firm and/or in-house role with a reputable investment firm or MNC
