Summary

Legal resource supporting the Senior Legal Counsel on APAC legal matters of CMA CGM Group.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice to all levels within the organisation on issues affecting the Company\xe2\x80\x99s business and operations (such as issues relating to IT, Digital, Intellectual Property, Real Estate, Infrastructures (port terminals), Commercial, Corporate Communication etc.) within APAC
  • Review, draft and negotiate contracts with customers, vendors and other types of agreements, including for matters listed above
  • Provide legal advice on cross-border project work like M&A and corporate restructuring
  • Managing litigations, claims and disputes within APAC
  • Managing external counsel to ensure maximum efficiency and manageable expense
  • Provide training and education to the company\xe2\x80\x99s employees on legal issues and risks
  • Any other projects and assignments as directed from time to time
Minimum requirements:
  • Recognised Law Degree. Preferably qualified in Singapore.
  • At least 8 to 10 years PQE with practice and/or inhouse experience in Singapore. Maritime law background is a plus but not mandatory
  • Strong legal drafting, vetting and negotiation skills
  • Strong general and contracting legal skills, and a commercial mindset
  • Ability and skills to gain a broad understanding of legal and compliance issues
  • Strong Analytical skills. Ability to apply legal principles and requirements to a wide variety of fact patterns
  • Able to multi-task, meet tight deadlines and work with minimal supervision as well as under pressure
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with people at all levels
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Proficient in spoken and written Chinese ideally, as you would be required to deal with Chinese speaking counterparties, read and write contracts in Chinese in addition to your English language proficiency
**This role is opened for local employment only.
