Job description Our client, a large global group, is looking for a Banking Counsel to join their established team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of 6-8 years of experience in the banking and finance sector, with expertise in loan financing and syndicated loans, as well as other related practice areas.
Responsibilities:
- Advise stakeholders on a wide range of banking and finance matters, with a particular focus on loan financing, syndicated loans, and related transactions.
- Draft and review loan agreements, credit facilities, and other financing documents to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct due diligence and risk assessments for the business units in their facilities.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate successful loan financing deals.
- Qualified SG/MY/UK solicitor with 6-8 PQE in banking and finance transactions.
- In-depth knowledge of banking and finance regulations, including securities laws, lending practices, and financial transactions.
- Proven ability to manage and oversee multiple transactions with minimal supervision.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address legal and business challenges effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Additional language (Mandarin or Bahasa) will be an advantage.
