Role Summary: Singapore headquartered Company looking for a mid-level lawyer to support Company\xe2\x80\x99s expansion plans, including various large scale infrastructure projects ongoing and in the pipeline. The Candidate\xe2\x80\x99s role will be to provide legal support for these projects, including managing any disputes, and will also be responsible for providing sound and efficient general legal advisory services to the business, and ensure effective management of legal and contractual risks for the APRIL Group.

Minimum 6-10 years PQE (i.e. law degree).

Qualifications e.g. education, advanced certifications

LLB or equivalent.

A Singapore qualified lawyer.

A.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Major Infrastructure Contract Drafting, Review and Negotiation

a. Drafting, review and negotiation of contracts relating to major infrastructure projects e.g. capex expansion projects.

Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on a variety of engineering, procurement and construction-related contracts. Develop standard templates, and forms with standard conditions of contract for various types of expansion projects and major equipment procurement. Provide legal support and advice throughout the entire life cycle of large-scale infrastructure projects: NDAs, bidding/ tendering, contract negotiations and execution phase of large-scale infrastructure projects (eg. responding to variation and extension of time claims, claim for liquidated damages etc). Provide sound advice on possible legal risks and provide mitigation solutions for various projects.

2. Conduct of Arbitration, Litigation & Disputes Management

Strategise and manage disputes, contentious/litigious matters with external counsel and APRIL Group management team.

Manage external counsel throughout process with eye on budget and bill overruns

Handle a broad range of general corporate commercial matters such as drafting, reviewing and negotiating various types of contracts with a view to provide legal advice in order to finalise contracts and protect the interests of the company.

4.Any ad hoc projects as required.

5.Ensure that internal group legal policies and guidelines are understood and implemented; providing training to internal clients and colleagues.

B.CANDIDATE PROFILE SUMMARY

LL.B or equivalent Singapore qualified lawyer from a reputable university. Minimum 6 \xe2\x80\x93 10 years PQE, with solid track record / prior experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating EPC and construction-related contracts (eg. civil engineering, MEI, construction and procurement contracts). Experience in handling infrastructure project disputes / claims and dispute resolution processes (eg. adjudication, FIDIC Dispute Adjudication Boards, expert determination, arbitration, court). Experience in working on large-scale projects in the SEA region will be an advantage plus (eg. Indonesia, Malaysia). Must have a strong academic record, analytical and research skills. Experience gained either from a reputable international law firm, or in-house position in a multinational company is highly desirable. Candidates with international experience supporting manufacturing / procurement entities / construction industries are preferred. Exposed to regional work and diverse business operations Mature, resilient, high energy, able to relate with senior management and provide sound legal advice. Must be able to deal with a demanding internal client base, including being able to prioritize, handle multiple matters effectively and meeting tight deadlines when required Must be self-motivated, have initiative, problem-solve, take ownership of deals with the ability to work independently, and yet be a strong team player. Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills, be quick thinking, meticulous and commercially- minded Hands \xe2\x80\x93 on, attention to details and adaptable. Able to work and interact with various cultures.

C.LANGUAGE

Fluent in English (written and spoken). Proficiency in Mandarin and Bahasa would be an added advantage.
