Responsibilities

• Support the Group\'s expansion in Southeast Asia and enhance global legal functions, including M&A transactions, negotiations, capital market activities, contract drafting and review, loan and fund-raising transactions, legal risk management, implementation of share incentive schemes, and resolution of commercial, HR, and IP disputes.
• Strengthen legal protections, manage operational legal and regulatory risks, and contribute to improving legal and regulatory best practices within the Group.
• Provide legal support and advice to other departments as required.
• Manage and organize the handling of contentious matters involving Group entities.
• Oversee the daily operations of the global Group Legal team, mentoring and training team members for professional development.
• Select and engage international legal service providers as needed, closely monitoring their performance and output.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor from a reputable law school.
• Qualified in Singapore, Hong Kong, US, or UK.
• Proficiency in English and Mandarin (both verbal and written) to effectively communicate with key Chinese stakeholders.
• At least 10 years of post-qualification experience, with expertise in various types of investment and corporate finance contracts and documents, and strong drafting skills in both English and Chinese.
• Legal work experience in Singapore, Malaysia, and other Asian countries; knowledge and experience in India is a plus. The role also involves supporting company secretarial work in overseas countries.
• Exceptional presentation, communication, negotiation, and influential skills.
• Highly flexible and adaptable with a can-do attitude, willing to travel to Malaysia, China, and other Asian countries as needed.
